In the "Six-Legged Legionnaire", from Adventure #355, Insect Queen sets out to aid three Legionnaires who will be imperiled by different threats. She actually only saves two of them, but manages to save two others during the course of the story, for a total of four rescues.

So, name:

This is a good trvia question. Should have been read by most of us and yet probably not remembered. I've only read it once and I can't remember any of it.

When she finds out that three Legionnaires will be in danger on their mission to Ice City, Insect Queen informs Superboy and he flies her there! However, the evil Oggar-Kon blasts Superboy with a burst of Green Kryptonite dust! By adopting the form of a Sphinx Moth, whose fast-beating wings lead it to often being mistaken for a hummingbird, Lana is able to shake enough of the kryptonite dust out of Superboy's uniform for him to recover, though she loses her bio-ring in the process, leading the entire Legion to help search for it.. At the end of the story, Lana is awarded honorary membership, and Kal mentions that she deserves it "for saving four Legionnaires, including me!" So that's one correct!

And you still have one more Legionnaire from the story, but not in the correct category!

I remembered that she lost her bio-ring but not how.

Having saved two of the three Legionnaires she came to Ice City to help out, Lana gets distracted by rescuing Superboy and losing her bio-ring. Meanwhile, Chameleon Boy flies after Oggar-Kon's ship in the form of a swift duck hawk! However, Oggar-Con tosses out an egg which hatches to become an Instant Eagle and menaces Cham! Fortunately, Cham is easily able to escape this perilous situation without Lana's help by adopting another form, that of a giant winged octopus! In this form he is also able to capture Oggar-Con's ship.

So, that's Superboy and Chameleon Boy placed correctly. stile also has an additional correct Legionnaire in the wrong category.

I remember the ring, and how it was found...

When Ice City is threatened, Chameleon Boy, Colossal Boy, and Shrinking Violet are sent to investigate! Learning that the three will be in trouble, Insect Queen and Superboy fly down to help. After building an ice wall to protect the city from Oggar-Con's hot wind machine, Colossal Boy finds himself unable to see because of a dark cloud created by the villain! He is saved from falling into a nearby dangerous crevice by Lana, who becomes a firefly girl and lights his way! Soon after, Shrinking Violet is infiltrating Oggar-Con's secret lair, and when discovered, uses her shrinking power! But Oggar-Con throws a bunch of seeds in her direction, which become instant plants, including a venus flytrap which menaces Vi! Fortunately, Lana has followed Vi, and adopting the form of a leaf-cutting bee, saves the Legionnaire!

Bouncing Boy is in the story, but his only real role is to be tied up in a net by Lana's tent caterpillar form during her audition. So we still have one more Legionnaire that Lana saves to be guessed!

hmmm I know Light Lass appeared, but I guessed her before and having her as the last guess won't add up re the comments.

Matter-Eater Lad?

Yes, Light Lass is instrumental in finding Lana's missing bio-ring, but she is not in peril during the issue. MEL does not make an appearance.

Pete Ross does not appear in the story. Nor does Jimmy Olsen, lest you're tempted to go that route!.

how about Invisible Lyle? (who is really good at hiding, I thought he was already guessed!)

Legion leader Invisible Kid is in the story, and is responsible for sending the three members to Ice City, but is not himself imperiled during the story!

Perhaps I'm misremembering the period in Legion history... let's go out on a limb and guess...

Karate Kid?

Recently joined Legionnaire Karate Kid was absent from this particular story!
