Hmmm....you said your character RESEMBLES an Earth animal, but is your character in fact an animal from Earth? My character is, in fact, an animal from Earth.

While Pig Iron and Little Cheese are both mammalian members of the Zoo Crew, Peter Porkchops, later known as Pig Iron, was the one who had his own self-titled comic from 1949-1959.

I was afraid that clue would throw people off, since he was the only member of the Zoo Crew that was a pre-established character.
Though, there's not a lot of animal characters who had their own self-titled books. I thought you guys might go for Rex the Wonder Dog at one point.

I never knew Pig-Iron was an olde times character! I am not surprised Roy Thomas did though IB, does your character identify as being male? I am pretty sure I first learned about Pig Irons' Peter Porkchops past through a past made by EDE himself some time ago!  and yes, my character does identify as male!

I believe Peter was the most successful original "funny animal" character published by DC in the Golden/Atomic Age. There was also Fox and the Crow, but they were a licensed property. So Peter definitely fits with Roy's fondness for reviving once prominent but largely forgotten characters.
