I had to go back to the book to check the answer! Alright, exposure to a nuclear explosion accident? Because there is some exposure going on (down, tiger). As it's not from a test or an accident, I was looking for a bit more on why they would be exposed. traveling through a black hole? Not form travelling through a black hole Radioactive asteroid passed near them? or from an asteroid

Were his parents involved in nuclear research? I think they were scientists, but it wasn't their research. Did they encounter some aliens? It was an encounter with an alien. A giant Energy Squid Alien of Space. They shot the alien with a massive Radium Gun. Either one or both of those resulted in Kid Psycho being born a mutant. Over to you Ibby!

yay! I was going through the guesses and thinking, okay what common Silver Age origin has not been used yet... so, aliens. (I mean, technically everyone outside of their world would have been an alien to them, but...) Okay let's see... When the Reboot Legion met Tenzil, he was introduced as their resident chef.
