Puts on space-tux for a welcome in the official thread...

Great to have you at Legion World Christopher! And for sharing your reading history, as it intertwined with what was going on in your life.

We have lots of reread threads going back to Adventure #247 and look forward to hearing your thoughts on there, or anywhere else.

Lots of love for the Five Year Gap on Legion World too. Lots of love for *every* version/ volume. Everyone has their favourites, and finding out more about them and discussing them is just one of the things that makes this place so interesting.

I didn't pick up the Mayfair 2995 Sourcebook at the time. Even though I was into RPGs, I went through a few issues of V4 where I wasn't enjoying it, or the art. So I huffily ignored it. Getting a copy years later, at a decent price, took a lot of time. I got mine on e-bay from someone simply getting rid of their DC Heroes collection, rather than someone who had followed the comics. So, they are out there.

Welcome, Christopher! so cool to see someone who (like most of us here) appreciates all versions of the Legion.

Also cool to meet a professional writer - we have lots of fanfic writers here and even one other published writer. I'm sure we'd love to read your stuff and to read any comments you have - on the Legion or on our stuff!

Also: wow, your wife resembles Nura! cool!

A big hearty welcome again!

Hi Christopher! Welcome!

Great to hear you are a writer. You have me wondering now whether I have read any of your works, although admittedly a lot of my reading is older and I am not as caught up with the latest science fiction and fantasy. Congrats on being a finalist in Hugo and Nebula awards. Great work. Short stories, novellas or novels?

Five Years Later was what brought me back in to the fold as an adult so I have always appreciated what they tried to do there.

As mentioned above for the past few years many of us have been re-reading through the Legion stories and have only recently moved past End of an Era into the Reboot. You can find the posts under "Re-Reading the Legion Archives" because it started from the old Legion Archive reprints from DC many a year ago. When we reached the end of those we just kept going using the next number pretending it would have been the next Archive.

You can find the most recent near the top of the main forum or here.
http://www.legionworld.net/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1006112#Post1006112

There is a link at the top to the previous thread and if you go back a few links you can go right back to the beginning if you want. Over time people have joined in later and added to old threads so it is never too late to join in.

EDIT: Oops! I can see you have already found the most recent Re-read thread. Great to see you wanting to join in.

I see this hasn’t had a new post in over a year, but whatever, I’ll just go for it. I only discovered this forum literally this morning, cause I’m almost too young for this style of early Internet forum XDDD

I’m Arumidden. I’m 21, and I got into the Legion from the animated series from 2007. I then proceeded to read pretty much every Legion comic ever published XD. I’m currently writing a Legion fanfic which is my own cherry-picked interpretation pulling from any and every iteration of the Legion.

I’m on Reddit and AO3 under the same name. My Legion fic is just called “Legion: Fanboot.”

Welcome Arumidden!

I've been saying for awhile that one of the many mistakes DC was making with the Legion is not figuring out a way to lure in people who remember watching the cartoon as a kid.

Hi everyone, I’m Connor. I’m 22, and have been a lurker of Legion World for a few years now, having just got the courage to join up recently. I live in the Midwestern U.S., and have been a fan of the Legion since I was around 10 years old.

I grew up reading whatever I could get my hands on, and have read almost all of the Legion’s history after the Great Darkness Saga. I love both the Pre-Zero Hour and Reboot Legions, with the DnA era and the 80s Levitz run both consisting of my favorite periods of the comics' history. Brainy, Wildfire, Gates, XS, and Blok are some of my favorite characters in the 30th and 31st centuries.

I’m not sure how much I will be able to contribute to some of the funny and interesting discussions I have read on this board, but I will try to bring some valuable(ish) conversation to a board I have enjoyed reading so much!
