Thoth has it! It was indeed "probe" Lobo commenting on "Furball's" repeated failing attempts to protect Aria. We first see him charging Lobo and then being flung far away accompanied by a Thunk sound. After diverting to other scenes a few pages later we again see him being flung away in exactly the same manner which is when Lobo makes his rather rude comment. (We could hardly expect Lobo to acknowledge Brin's obvious courage, loyalty and determination.)

Oh that's right! I remember it now. The only thing I could remember before was Brainy semi-complimenting/insulting Brin on his earlier insight that nobody could really do all the things Sensor Girl seemed to be doing, and that was after Brainy had worked out the answer.
