- in Post-Crisis my character only made a couple of brief appearances and was associated with another Superman-related character
- in Post-Flashpoint my character was associated with Superman

Lucy Lane?

Cat Grant?

Not Lucy Lane although she fits well the hero sometimes/villain sometimes clue.
Not Cat Grant who never appeared Pre-Crisis.

Remember my character mainly appeared Pre-Crisis, very briefly Post-Crisis, multiple issues Post-Flashpoint.

Lori Lemaris?

Not Lori. Good try but she became a regular guest character for a while Post-Crisis and I cannot remember her becoming villainous.

However the initials are technically correct.

Lena Luthor?

You got it Ibby. Well done.

Lena's first appearance was in a Superman story where he figured out that Lena Thorul was actually Lex's sister Lena Luthor. She then made several appearances as a friend of Supergirl with her mild telepathic powers aiding Supergirl in various adventures. She had a few adventures of her own such as getting amnesia, getting lost in Africa and becoming a jungle girl. She ends up marrying a government agent Colby with Linda as a bridesmaid. When we next meet her she has a son but is now separated from Colby. There are a few stories involving her son with complications arising with Lex. The last we see of her Linda now in Metropolis is helping her old friend Lena find a job but she is suffering increasingly debilitating headaches and ends up having brain surgery which cures the headaches but removes her telepathy. There is a complicated scheme that turns out to be by an old enemy of Lex that ends up with Lena learning the truth of her family and reconciling with Lex.

Post-Crisis, apart from a couple of cameos in tales of Lex's youth, she makes a brief appearance in Connor's tales. Upon learning that his friend Lori is the niece of Lex Luthor who has been trying to manipulate him, Connor challenges Lex to create a cure for his sister Lena, Lori's invalid mother. Lex accepts the challenge, creates a cure that enables Lena to walk and then immediately injects her with an "antidote" to the cure causing Lena to collapse again. Lex's explanation to an enraged Connor is "Lex giveth ... and Lex taketh away."

(There is another Lena Luthor Post-Crisis who is Lex's daughter whom he eventually trades away to Brainiac-13 for control of advanced technology transforming Metropolis, seeing his act as a "heroic" sacrifice for his city, but I consider her a separate character.)

Post-Flashpoint Lena makes two multi-issue appearances, first during the breakout of the Amazo virus that is killing people particularly super-powered ones during the period where Lex is part of the Justice League. Lena, once again crippled in a wheelchair but clear-headed, is revealed to being kept by Lex in Lexcorp and plays a part in finding a cure. it is suggested that she is smarter than Lex and may be behind many of his inventions, but he manipulates her and keeps her hidden away fro the world "for her own good". In her next appearance in "Superwoman" Lana is fighting what appear to be Bizarro versions of Lois/Superwoman or Ultrawoman. It turns out that Lena is behind it all seeking her revenge on Lex for controlling her so many years and transforms herself into a giant villainous cyborg creature somewhat resembling Lex's old power suit. She is eventually stoppped by Lana with the help of one of the Ultrawomen clones. Lex locks her away again where she won't be seen. And that's the last we have seen of her.

I remember that scene with Lex curing Lena and taking it away... what a (!@)*$~(~, Lex is just absolutely vile. A good villain, partly because of how vile he is


poor Lena, she sure has had her ups and downs...
