It was indeed Laurel! (So yes, it was a Legionnaire.) From her origin issue, LSH # 9: ![[Linked Image from cosmicteams.com]](https://www.cosmicteams.com/legion/profiles/images/legion1-5/legion-v4-09.jpg) I don't recall this retcon getting much play, but it's clearly an idea that Tom & Mary really liked, so I emphasized "on-panel" in case it showed up in the fan press before this issue. I'm pretty certain it was in the 2995 Mayfair sourcebook.

Yay! I knew I was onto something. It's a shame I was thinking about the much later Glorith abducting Legionnaires story  I'd forgotten all about that retcon. I was meh about it, when I read it at the time. It just seemed pointless. New Qs in a day or so, as I shall be near my preciouses then - Lord of the Rings folks never had to cart long boxes of comics all over the place.

It just seemed pointless. It really was. I think Tom & Mary saw their job as Legion co-writers as an opportunity to canonize every fan theory and idea that stuck in their heads (see also: Garth as Proty, gay Element Lad).

Not to go too far down the rabbit hole on this thread, but my hunch is that Keith assumed from the start that he could use Supergirl, then was blocked. Hence all the weird retconning in Year 1 here based on Tom's blog. Everything after that, however - yeah, that was Tom & Mary fanwanking. PS - my new favorite term!
