I said, my back feels a little funny this morning. One of the bed slats must have shifted out of place during the night.

Ouch! Sorry to hear that, Cleome. Hugs.
I'm surprised I don't wake up in pain more often, because my bed-springs are shot to hell.
Why doesn't she replace them, you ask? Because it's expensive, it's a hassle, and I don't like strangers in my home.

Yep. And you have to find something to do with the *old* mattress, if the new provider won't haul it away.

That, too. That, too.
Anyone remember water-mattresses? A married couple that my parents were friends with had one. Seems so absurd in hindsight, yet also somewhat endearing, like so many things from the 1970s.

At least if you can siphon the water properly, a waterbed is easier to move than the traditional mattress type.
That could be an awfully big "IF," however. I think it was the alternative cartoonist Jackie Urbanovic who told the tragic tale of her waterbed collapsing the very first night after she and her partner broke up.

The only time I really miss carpeted floors is when I'm doing my Yoga. Which should be every day, but of course is not.

I told myself I would start every day with some push-ups and mountain climbers, but… alas…

Finding mountain climbers can be difficult, depending on how near you are to some mountains. So, I can see that being tough.

I misread that as "hamburger pilot" at first and felt really confused.
We don't have a Hamburger Pilot in town, but we used to have a cool bar 'n grill called Hamburger Mary's.

Hamburger Mary...that might be a reference to a song from the Psychedelic Furs' 1982 album "Forever Now," the one with Love My Way on it. But I just got out of bed and I'm still too groggy to remember the title of the song with Hamburger Mary.

I thought Hamburger Mary was a Frank Miller creation for Daredevil. The much slower paced one where she uses cholesterol to bump off the city's crooks over a span of years.

LOL
That's Typhoid Mary, and Frank Miller had NOTHING to do with her creation. Ann Nocenti created her.

Sometimes "tomato" is intentionally misspelled "tomata" for comical effect.
