Ibby, Cleome, I can relate to what you're both saying. My worst problem with my creative ideas is that I quickly get bored with one and jump to the next. And the next and the next and the next. No wonder I'm known as "Fickles."

I do also appreciate novelty, Fanfie so I can also understand jumping from idea to idea

Thanks for the kind words, Ibby. I just wish there were more stories that I've seen through from start to finish.

Thanks, guys. Yeah, I guess what really matters is to get the ideas out there.

I agree, Ibby. It's the same ideas with fewer headaches on the creator's part.
Then there's also collaborations, such as the one you and I did for a while. Some nice stuff came out of that, though I still feel bad about how poorly I wrote some of the Postboot Legionnaires.

Ah but trying is part of the learning process Fanfie, as is openness to feedback

The thing about fandom is: it's supposed to be fun. So if a project isn't fun, it's fine to set it aside and try something else.
The average day is already filled with things we HAVE to do which aren't fun. If fandom isn't an escape from that, what good is it?

You're right, Cleome. I greatly appreciate your putting it into perspective. I, like too many fans, have a tendency to take it all more seriously than is sensible.

Don't get me wrong. I think a strong commitment to an idea is great. But if it fades on me, I'll put it aside for awhile and begin something else. Or go for a walk or whatever. Come to think of it, I think that actual message *did* make it into one of the fics I actually completed. Heh.

It's not often, and in recent years, but there are some books I do give up on after 30 pages. Why persevere with something that you're not enjoying.

Is it? I thought life was just surviving day to day against the mutant dinosaurs. But I guess not everyone lives in Skartaris.

I'll let the dinosaurs know they don't need to bother wearing them.

There weren't enough dinosaurs with feather boas in Warlord. Happy to dress up gorillas in anything in the '60s, but clearly losing their touch into the 80s.

Sad to see the progressive, underground movement that formed Skartaris, before the asteroid hit the dinosaurs, regress by the time of Warlord. Still, for the humans including whatever bloke Grell's goatee was possessing, it was nearly clothing optional. The Skartaris / Winath crossover would be a sure hit. Lightning, Dinosaurs, Naturism, Boas and Farm Machinery Maintenance. Something for everyone there.
