I have vowed that, unless my survival depends on it, I will never give up dairy products. I'll probably give up all meats eventually, and sugars, but not dairy.

The Greeks and Romans used to look down on cultures/ people that drank a lot of milk and who ate butter. Everyone seemed to find cheese acceptable.

I do love me a good barbarian comic, especially if it was drawn by John Buscema.

I wish I had some delicious blood oranges right now. I did have some super-delicious Reliant Grapes yesterday. Fall grapes are absolutely the BEST ones!

I was just reading that the apples in the garden of the Hesperides, might have been oranges according to one interpretation.

It's very nice Cleome.

But Silver Age JLA has taught me to spot a visual trap to create drones of the Queen Bee! Nice try Zazzala!

I always found it funny and interesting that the JLI villain, Queen of Bialya, was also named Queen Bee

I got the feeling that was supposed to be the post crisis revamp of the character. Her drones were the mind controlled politicians whom were kidnapped during visits to her country.

Definitely a not-so-literal interpretation... I know a lot of people who act like mindless drones of their favorite politicians

Oh, hey thanks for the nice comments about my collage. That whole series is meant to have peach-like coloring but without showing the literal fruit.

The bee is from an old leaflet for baby clothes from a department store. Meier & Frank, now gone the way of the dinosaurs.

(Of course, right now I have at least 8-10 works in progress but none are ready to post. SO aggravating.)

Alas! I feel you cleome, when I have an idea rattling around in my head, it tries so hard to get out...and the closer it gets to being fully realized, the harder it shakes its cage

My ideas are more like kids in the Terrible Twos. You try and pull them one way, but they fret and make a scene and demand to go the opposite way! lol
