Fansets had the license to create Warner Bros/DC-related pins up until a few weeks ago. All of their inventory of DC related items were transferred over to an Etsy store.
Below I will show and list out all of the Legion-related pins (there's a 10 images per post limit). But here's a pic of my collection if you want to see them all together.
Over in this thread we began discussing Fanset's Legion of Super-Hero pins that have recently been discontinued. But, the intent of that thread wasn't to focus on the Fanset pins, so I thought I'd create a separate topic to let that thread live it's own life. ..... Below I will show and list out all of the Legion-related pins (there's a 10 images per post limit). But here's a pic of my collection if you want to see them all together.
Thank you VERY much for posting these, Nightcrawler!!!!
Thanks to your post here and on the other thread, i was able to get all of the Legion-specific pins, although I see now there are 3+ versions of supergirl and superboy - but then, that will always happen, and "not getting everything with superman and supergir" is basically where Legion collectors have to draw the line unledss they have unlimited resources.
I think this is a beautiful set, thanks again for posting.
Well, the "GoPinForce" Etsy store folks selling these ship promptly (and accurately - this was a LOT of pins for one order, but no mistakes), I already got mine 2 days ago!!!! They've all been posted above, but here is one photo of all of them together because a) I am proud/excited about it b) there are household objects on the side, to give you some idea of scale, but MOST importantly... c) to share this hand-written note I got from them (if you can see it on the left,) which announces...
4 new Legionnaires coming ?!?! Now, I know this conversation partly started with the announcement that FanSets had lost its DC license... but maybe GoPinForce is now a separate entity? OR, the more likley but sadder explanation could just be that the note was written by a lower-level employee who doesn't realize they lost the license (although this doesn't strike me as a business that would have TOO many levels...)
Interesting observation - out of all these 35 pins, every one of them had two pins (by which i now mean specifically the pointy things on the back), even the LSH symbol, EXCEPT for Mon-el and Shadow Lass. NOT a defect or breakage, as the size of the actual pointy-pins is substantial, so i would be able to see if one broke off, but the backs are unblemished and smooth. I owuld be curioujs to hear if thsi is universal, or maybe they came from a different "print run"?
ALSO - I got the the Duo-damsel 2-pack, but it really is just two copies of the normal sized pin. Still a nice-ish effect for display, but if they really wanted my money, they could have made the 2-pack be one orange and one purple, (as when split), then still sold the dual-colored on, then I'd have bought 3 pins total.
Other than that, I have nothing but nice things to say about this set. The artwork is well-done -not too cartoony, but also not trying to do too much. The faces are pleasant, but every one of them looks different. Also a nice touch - Colossal Boy is just a bit bigger than others, and Shrinking Violet just a bit smaller, but not so much that it ruins the aggregate display. I am thinking of buying a bulletin board just to put these on my wall.
Obvious question - if they ARE making 4 more, who? Next in order would be Jacques Foccart, White Witch, Polar Boy, Tellus, Quislet, Magnetic Kid (or possibly a 2nd Jeckie as Sensor Girl). The first 3 are obvious, but among the remaining? Or perhaps it is only one of these and then the other 3 Fatal Five members...

Remember what they said when they announced they lost the license only a few weeks ago...

We got out over 300 characters, some for the first time very to market! Our Batman 66 li e was o w of my favorites and feel proud that I was able to make product for show that defined me and started my li e for comic back in 1966. We have been asked to remove all our WB based product. In advance of the license ending we liquidated most of our product to PinForce.io. They will have everything released and unreleased there starting late next week. To all the fans from around the world who supported our classics line… Thank you!

They were still producing pins until just recently. I'm sure they already had several approved and created BEFORE WB pulled the plug. So far, the only one "unreleased" in the Etsy store is Peacemaker.
BTW, these are designed based on the Micro Heroes that have been a part of the Internet since forever.
The very first of the unreleased Acrylic Logos, Vehicles and Locations in DC Comics! With so many NEW Legion members coming you will want this to add to your display!!

And to be clear, they didn’t pull the license. We walked at the end of our second license because of the direction of consumer products and cost to do business with them. We would have renewed if they would have remained a viable financial and directional option for us.
...the hand writing was on the wall and it was the only way I could ensure the completion of the lines for our loyal customers. DC wanted us to end our Classics line that I spent the last 6 years building at the same time they wanted triple the costs of royalties and guarantees. We were told there was no money in classic only product. We wholesaled to the PinForce guys out of their comic book store (actually where I shop for comics). Long Live the Legion
There's a Coming Soon section on the Pin Force site.
It shows Night Girl, Lobo, Cosmic Boy (Bronze Age), Color Kid, Saturn Girl (Bronze Age), Sensor Girl, Polar Boy (as he joined) and White Witch among a lot of other DC goodies. All coming eventually.
Jaques, Quislet and Magnetic Kid are the only MIAs so far.
On one hand I would prefer to have an individual Quislet the same size as the others (even though the scale would obviously be out), just because I think his microship is a cool design on its own...
On the other hand, I would love to wear this out at bars just so people could ask me wtf it is and then I get to explain Quislet AND the Protys to randoms
