Fansets had the license to create Warner Bros/DC-related pins up until a few weeks ago. All of their inventory of DC related items were transferred over to an Etsy store.
Below I will show and list out all of the Legion-related pins (there's a 10 images per post limit). But here's a pic of my collection if you want to see them all together.
Over in this thread we began discussing Fanset's Legion of Super-Hero pins that have recently been discontinued. But, the intent of that thread wasn't to focus on the Fanset pins, so I thought I'd create a separate topic to let that thread live it's own life. ..... Below I will show and list out all of the Legion-related pins (there's a 10 images per post limit). But here's a pic of my collection if you want to see them all together.
Thank you VERY much for posting these, Nightcrawler!!!!
Thanks to your post here and on the other thread, i was able to get all of the Legion-specific pins, although I see now there are 3+ versions of supergirl and superboy - but then, that will always happen, and "not getting everything with superman and supergir" is basically where Legion collectors have to draw the line unledss they have unlimited resources.
I think this is a beautiful set, thanks again for posting.
Well, the "GoPinForce" Etsy store folks selling these ship promptly (and accurately - this was a LOT of pins for one order, but no mistakes), I already got mine 2 days ago!!!! They've all been posted above, but here is one photo of all of them together because a) I am proud/excited about it b) there are household objects on the side, to give you some idea of scale, but MOST importantly... c) to share this hand-written note I got from them (if you can see it on the left,) which announces...
4 new Legionnaires coming ?!?! Now, I know this conversation partly started with the announcement that FanSets had lost its DC license... but maybe GoPinForce is now a separate entity? OR, the more likley but sadder explanation could just be that the note was written by a lower-level employee who doesn't realize they lost the license (although this doesn't strike me as a business that would have TOO many levels...)
Interesting observation - out of all these 35 pins, every one of them had two pins (by which i now mean specifically the pointy things on the back), even the LSH symbol, EXCEPT for Mon-el and Shadow Lass. NOT a defect or breakage, as the size of the actual pointy-pins is substantial, so i would be able to see if one broke off, but the backs are unblemished and smooth. I owuld be curioujs to hear if thsi is universal, or maybe they came from a different "print run"?
ALSO - I got the the Duo-damsel 2-pack, but it really is just two copies of the normal sized pin. Still a nice-ish effect for display, but if they really wanted my money, they could have made the 2-pack be one orange and one purple, (as when split), then still sold the dual-colored on, then I'd have bought 3 pins total.
Other than that, I have nothing but nice things to say about this set. The artwork is well-done -not too cartoony, but also not trying to do too much. The faces are pleasant, but every one of them looks different. Also a nice touch - Colossal Boy is just a bit bigger than others, and Shrinking Violet just a bit smaller, but not so much that it ruins the aggregate display. I am thinking of buying a bulletin board just to put these on my wall.
Obvious question - if they ARE making 4 more, who? Next in order would be Jacques Foccart, White Witch, Polar Boy, Tellus, Quislet, Magnetic Kid (or possibly a 2nd Jeckie as Sensor Girl). The first 3 are obvious, but among the remaining? Or perhaps it is only one of these and then the other 3 Fatal Five members...

Remember what they said when they announced they lost the license only a few weeks ago...

They were still producing pins until just recently. I'm sure they already had several approved and created BEFORE WB pulled the plug. So far, the only one "unreleased" in the Etsy store is Peacemaker.
BTW, these are designed based on the Micro Heroes that have been a part of the Internet since forever.
The very first of the unreleased Acrylic Logos, Vehicles and Locations in DC Comics! With so many NEW Legion members coming you will want this to add to your display!!
LONG LIVE THE LEGION!!!
Another NEW Logo or Pin coming on Sept 8th!!
Something new is coming on September 8th as well. [UPDATE: It's DC Classics ALL STAR SQUADRON UNRELEASED #5 Acrylic Stands]

And to be clear, they didn’t pull the license. We walked at the end of our second license because of the direction of consumer products and cost to do business with them. We would have renewed if they would have remained a viable financial and directional option for us.
...the hand writing was on the wall and it was the only way I could ensure the completion of the lines for our loyal customers. DC wanted us to end our Classics line that I spent the last 6 years building at the same time they wanted triple the costs of royalties and guarantees. We were told there was no money in classic only product. We wholesaled to the PinForce guys out of their comic book store (actually where I shop for comics). Long Live the Legion
There's a Coming Soon section on the Pin Force site.
It shows Night Girl, Lobo, Cosmic Boy (Bronze Age), Color Kid, Saturn Girl (Bronze Age), Sensor Girl, Polar Boy (as he joined) and White Witch among a lot of other DC goodies. All coming eventually.
Jaques, Quislet and Magnetic Kid are the only MIAs so far.
On one hand I would prefer to have an individual Quislet the same size as the others (even though the scale would obviously be out), just because I think his microship is a cool design on its own...
On the other hand, I would love to wear this out at bars just so people could ask me wtf it is and then I get to explain Quislet AND the Protys to randoms
Thank you so much for keeping us updated, Nightcrawler!! I was already really excited about the other new ones (esp. the Proty + Quislet, it looks really cool!), but I am really surprised bout Gold Lantern, sicne up until now they have only been doing Bronze age, or whatever we call comics fron the 80s (should be "plastic age"...)
Too bad that so far, as you pointed out, we are just shy of the complete set of pre 5-year gap (aka pre TMK, aka pre 1990s) characters, although honestly, I can't imagine Magnetic Kid would look very different from the Silver Age version of Cos, so really it is mainly Jacques who is missing.
I also think we are still a Persuader and Tharok shy of the full Fatal Five.
Looks like it has been a month since updates, so with the license dead, i guess we can't expect anymore?...
But I was happy BEFORe the updates, really good news to have these new ones. I guess the burning question now is... exactly when is "coming soon"?...
Here's an updated look at what's been released thus far...(Saturn Girl in the bikini was a production error and the one that eventually is released will differ slightly).

That's quite a display. Really nice.

2023 will see the releases of the Looney Tunes, Flintstones and other unreleased product.
We will be offering some fan made designs starting in February exclusive to our Etsy store.Â
Shortly in January we will be halting the daily image releases, we need a break, but they will be back!! We have so much to bring to you that never saw the light of day. The Completion of so many teams, Watchmen, Infinity Inc, Metal Men and many others!
The unprecedented Legion of Super Heroes collection has at least 30 more additions. Acrylics will continue to have a strong presence on the site and a bunch more to go! Super Powers and Batman the Animated Series will hit the streets very soon. The third series of Batman 66 characters and the second Series of vehicles will drop in the 1st Quarter as well as the 1st Series of logos from the show.
We need your help to continue to get the word out, many of you already are PinBassadors for us and we really need it.
And finally, but most importantly, Thank you!! For your support during our first 6 months!!
Having eaten Starros for breakfast, Lodger Lad submits his application to the Legion...
Do we get a vote? I vote Lodger Lad full (VERY full) Legion status.
Meow!
also excited for all the new pins... but the question remains, when is "Comin Soon"? (perhaps, not a bad idea, they are timing thier release to coincide with LSH animated move?)

Thanks EHF! He's a growing kitten, and those starros were walked off.
I was really happy with the quality of my order. Shipping is silly pennies to get here, so I'll wait until there's a few more available before going back for more. I do recommend them to anyone viewing here. They are really nice.

So, I am afraid I just had a Homer Simpson moment (Doh(!))...
Every time i clicked on a link for one of the newer LSH Pins, I saw that it said "UNRELEASED", and I interpretted that (yes, "ASSuMEd") as meaning it was not yet AVAILABE....
but then Thoth Lad's last comment above made me think maybe otherwise, and then I realized some of "Unreleased" Iones were in Nighwings's early post contaiing the photo of his updated collection...
Long story short, I soon realized that some of them that said UNRELEASED could actually be added to CART , and I then proceeded to order all I could find, which woudl be ahppy story EXCEPT...
they were sold out of Polar Boy , which clearly is one that had already been released.
Doh(!!!!)
TWO Questions then, for anyone willing to take the time (and thank you in advance): 1) Does anyone know how often they re-manufacture/re-issue sold out ones? Do you think they might get Brek (PB) back in stock when they issue the next tranche? 2) if the answer to #1 is never or rarely/unlikley, does anyone have an extra one they'd sell or trade me? (I am cursed with being a "Legion completist" collector, so this one will STICK (get it? it's a pin?...) in my craw until I can procure one. There are none on Etsy or Ebay

1. Not sure there's any frequency. But go here and check it periodically for an update about Polar Boy. I'll try to let you know if he's re-released if it happens. 2. Sorry, I can only afford one of each.

Thank you very much for the info and esp. the link, Nightcrawler(!), having a single link to check for ALL re-stocks will be SUPER helpful!!
I of course didn't think anyone here would want to part with theirs UNLess by some miracle they accidentally ordered two or something. I WAS surprised (and a tad panicked) i couldn't find one on eBay, but then again I just re-tried and had to alter my search further to find ANY of the Legion fansets pins... at which point, I eventually DID see a lot of the earlier ones on eBay, which means I am sure Brek will show up eventually.
But even better if he just shows up for retail on your "re-stock/welcome back" link - thanks again for your help!!
Not being a completist outside of the comics, I picked up mainly logos and the group ones. Partly as I wasn't sure how good they would look in my paws. Sadly Brek wasn't one of them, or I'd have offered it. They cost a fair bit here, with shipping included. I took a peek at our e-bay and had very few hits. Much more likely to get them closer to where you are.
"...not having to believe in a thing to be interested in it and not having to explain a thing to appreciate the wonder of it."
We are back!!! Previews will be happening again on a once a week basis until more art is ready!! I hope you have taken a chance to look at our Sister company, MultiVersePins.com. Its the reason previews had to wait here. There will be some incredible Legion, JSA, JLA and more coming over there. And many, many different "MultiVerses" of character driven product coming starting this month!
We are going to keep doing what we do here, expanding our character count for the DC Universe, this one is number 450!! As we set right now, there are a minimum of 6 per release all the way through the end of the year (So much you have not seen). We will be adding some exciting Super Powers Characters from the 80's Toy line based off the unproduced 4th series of characters. Style guide Batman Animated pins, Earth 2 villains and heroes, and for our Legion fans.... we are going open the throttle... Khunds, Legion of Super Villains, Legion of Super Rejects, New Heroes, Old Heroes, Characters you thought you would never see... seriously, some of you may require replacement under garments...
But here is the announcement.. OCTOBER is Legion Villain month!!! A NEW Character.... EVERY day!!! 31 New Characters to line up across from the greatest Legion collection EVER!!!! EVERY months releases (8th,18th and 28th) will continue to have a Legion character!! But you already knew that!! Long Live the Legion!!!!!!
It's time to put up, I was told by Lew he wanted to see this one first so here we go!!!
To further the cause of good and substitute heroes, we present... DOUBLE HEADER!!!
I finally got my "white whale" Polar Boy (thanks again, Nightcrawler!), and so here is my setup now (which actually utilizes the "pins" aspect).
"Tragically" (which thankfully is just hyperbole here, all other things considered), a few issues still: 1) The main reason i was excited to get Brek was so that I'd have all the pre-5-year gap members... but alas, I forgot that Jacques/IK2 is only announced and still not released ... hence the sad gap between Blok and White Witch. 2) Of course, I'd also like to get all the Legion "peripheral" characters, but alas, I missed another one... despite having just been released end of January, Color Kid is already sold out. However, given the short time before the re-stock of Polar Boy, this time I am confident I'll get another chance
others missing are not shown but have been ordered: Laurel Kent, bigger Colossal boy and Thunder. I think that's all "released" so far, (confusing since they all still say "unreleased"...), other than the Multiverse one mentioned above.
For Discussion: I have to say, I am surprised by Thunder being the only Moy-era (what are we officially calling it? V5?) character released so far... I'd have thought Gates, XS and Kinetix are more "canonical" of that run. Gold Lantern also seems an odd choice, althogh I guess he was a focus characer recently.
I'd also think the rest of the subs would rate a release before Power Boy and Laurel Kent.
Who do you all think should be next? (keeping in mind that "awaiting release" are Universo, Nemesis Kid, Jacques. and Double-Header, plus a new versio of Duo Damsel)..
My own opinion is that going beyond end of V3 is a huge can of worms, so they should just FIRST finish out the pre-5-year gap, which would mean: 1) Rest of subs - in order, I'd do Stone Boy (offered membership once!), Fire Lad, Chlorophyll Kid, and then Infectious Lass and Porcupine Pete (who i think ended up as members in thecomics, and certainly did in the cartoon) 2) more Villains? Silver Age Compute is pretty iconic, as is the original Starfinger. Infinite Man is pretty Iconic of later Legion, and I'm surprised there is not yet a Darkseid. 3) for Silver Age completists there is Kid Psycho, Lana Lang/Insect Queen, and Jimmy Olsen/Elastic Lad. For that matter, Rond Vidar? 3) There are obviously other Legion academy regulars besides Power Boy and Laurel: Lamprey, Comet Queen (shudder), Myg/KK2, etc. 4) Atmos(but only if properly depicted without armpits!!!) 5) Duplicate Boy? Other heroes of Lallor?
Ironicallly, I said 5-year gap and after is a "can of worms", but the more i think, so is the era up to that, so much history....

Hmmm. given the announcement posted earlier by Nightcrawler (weirdly imbedded in the "Double-Header" announcement, see here: Double-Header ), I wonder if this is one of the 31 "Legion Villans a day" planned for October?
Perhaps suggesting otherwise, though, they just released Nemesis Kid this pastg Friday... But it is interesting to think which 31 villains they will pick if NOT ones already announced... with the whole Legion of Super-villains to choose from, though, shouldn't be hard... But then ALSO, that will end up with that actual Legionnaire pins greatly out-numbered.... need the rest of the Subs, at least!
ALSO, at $12 a pop, 31 new ones in a month is starting to get REALLY expensive,,,
... despite having just been released end of January, Color Kid is already sold out. However, given the short time before the re-stock of Polar Boy, this time I am confident I'll get another chance....
Woo-hoo - thanks, Nightcrawler(!) - I had been checking almost every day but had lately given up... but you're like like "Old Faithful" on the updates! Much appreciated, already ordered him!
But sadly, I agree with you that the dream of having all the subs together will be a tad marred by this early 70s version of Chlorophyll kid... they later went back to his older costume anyway in the 80s and beyond, so this one is pretty esoteric and i think was only ever used one or twice.... plus, in this get-up he looks too much like GeoForce (I think?) from Teen Titans.
Suprised Stone Boy didn't come first - he was teh first sub offered full LSH membership, after all(!!!)... but then again, they aleady did "Power Boy", so they are definitely keeping it a bit random - which i guess is fun in that it's less predictable and keeps us guessing.. woudlnt' have expected Reflecto to be next at all, but will be happy to have him!
OKAY, then... and so now here we are, on the precipice of, AS PROMISED a Legion villain a day for a month (most of which are already previewed above by Nightcrawler - thanks yet again, Nightcrawler!)
Some of whom I am excited about, but then some of whom i don't even quite remember, despite the fact that I own every Legion appearance. Well, at least in COMICS, and therein lies an interesting quandry, not sure anyone has an answer, but let me explain
So at $10 a pop, some quick math confirms that it will cost $310 (plus shipping!) to own every release from the October LegionPalooza.
I am not sure how excited I feel about spending that much to wind up having my actual LEGIONNAIRE pins outnumbered by lesser (and often quite obscure) Legion villains. (although i do have a "plan" for my bulletin board display where i could put the villains around the outer border, leaving the Legionnaires themselves more "featured" in the interior - but that is not the point)
Now as a "complete Legion collector", I GUESS I should just buy them all (I genuinely want at least half of the upcoming ones anyway), and I may (probably will!) still do so "voluntarily" - but my QUESTION is, does my status as a "complete legion collector" depend on it? If so, where does it stop? Generally accepted wisdom would dictate that a "complete Legion collection" shoudl be based on "official" releases, and that makes sense - I cannot collect every Legionnaire drawing sketched by some kid on his notebook, or every "custom built" Legion action figure, etc.
so then are are these really "official" releases, in terms of (I guess?) licensing? I notice that each of them says "unreleased" even when available.
For me, this question more applies to other places - for example, has everyone here seen the Legion drinking glasses available on ebay?
This link is for Dawnstar, but there appears to be one for every classic legionnaire (37) and beyond ( a few more). No doubt most of you probably will think these are VERY cool, as do I! But these are now $25 a pop(!), so with around 40 of them available, this would be about $1000.
I would of course be able to fit probably only a handful or two of them with my existing glassware to actually use (or threaten to use), and the rest would have to just go in a closet. While in theory i could AFFORD it, in principal it is a lot of money for things that will mostly just sit in my closet. (of course, you could say that about the comics themselves but - shoosh! I worked hard to complete the collection, which originally was for actual reading before all the archives and omnibuses started getting released. )
Judging by the volume of feedback of the seller of the glasses (only 203), i would guess he or she is a small time arts & crafts type, selling these on their own.
I don't want to get anyone into trouble, but would such a person be likely to have a license to "officially" release Legion--themed items? Or do these fall more under something like a "custom built" artwork , such as i have seen people selling cutom built action figures of requested DC characters (including Legionnaires). How would i know/determine whether such items are "official"?
Or is this so inherently subjective that i just need to decide for myself? Advice and opinions appreciated , & thanks for listening.
I've met the owner, Eddi Anderson, several times over the years at Comic-Con. When he's there, he usually sells some of his stuff at the Prism Comics booth. I wear some of his shirts during the con. He's also a moderator of one of the Legion groups at Facebook.
But, yeah, when it comes to his stuff, I can't afford to buy it all and pick and choose only what appeals to me. I guess that line is for each of us is based on individual tastes and rules. At least in the case of Fansets, they WERE actually licensed, endorsed DC Comics products, so there's that to consider.
heh... thanks., Nightcrawler, that's as good an answer as any, and pretty cool that you've met Eddi/bearded shirts. His stuff is REALLY cool, and the art work (aside from obvious cases taken from comic covers or pin-ups) is REALLY nice, whoever drew them. I will no doubt end up purchasing "selected" items as you have....
but as George Carlin said, "you can't have everything, - where would you put it?"
As for the pins - i will buy the ones I like, and by the time i do, I bet there will probably be so few "left out" that I might as well get them also. Especially given that they are at least licensed "across time", as it were.
I am REALLY excited of course to get Mekt and the LSV and the League of Super-Assassins- but I don't remember Radiation Roy actually ever wearing a Radiation Suit? And I think Black Mace was only in one issue of Action or a late Adventure comic or something??
But then, my memory is definitely fading with age.
(OH, and I've been meaning to ask this FOREVER - who the $@#& is Terrus? I remember he was in the early Baxter run, but presumably all THOSE villains had been featured PREVIOUS to the early Baxter run, but I don't remember seeing Terrus any time prior to that. Does anybody?)
Black Mace appeared both in Adventure #374 as part of the Taurus Gang, and then in Superboy #213 where he fights Timber Wolf. He was also brought back by Geoff Johns as a member of the LSV.
And Terrus has no appearances prior to the Baxter LSV story. He barely does anything in that story, and then he doesn't even get a WWitLSH entry, so no one really knows what Levitz was thinking by introducing him. Of course, he also shows up again in the retroboot.

I was going to say "that's quick" before stopping and thinking that the first reveal was a couple of years ago, even if the actual appearance is in more recent months. Still, glad to see them continuing to expand.
Greetings to our customers and fans of classic comics!!
We have been putting off doing a Blog but it would seem that with the growth of the site its time so we can explain a little bit about what we do... Think of it as PinForce 101.
We love classic DC!! The Legion, the JLA, the Titans and the Villains!! Toss in most of the Animated Series over the years, the classic Saturday morning shows and the classic Live Action shows.... well you can see where we are going!! Over the coming months you will see...
1. Legion Palooza 2, our annual homage to the Legion of Super Heroes. This year it is classic characters from the beginning of the book! We will continue to bring out other classic characters from this timeline as we go forward!!
2. Continuation of the Mission Monitor Series! It is selling very well and it will continue to grow!! Anyone know what the Monstress logo is? We have a ways to go and have been adding designs on the backend to be created!!
3. Batman Caped Crusader, Justice League Unlimited and The Batman will be launching.
4. Creature Commandos (Classics) are coming! Very excited to add them! Logo and Acrylic will be added.
5. Scooby Doo will continue with the move to the 3rd - 5th seasons of the show.
6. RetroHeroesâ„¢ our very own line of Public Domain characters will be very close to 60 character as far as designs!! I am very excited about this line and the response has been awesome!! If you haven't, order 1 and see why these Heroes and Villains deserve to be recognized.
7. For the newer customers. We do a coming soon page on Mondays and Fridays throughout the month as long as we have images ready to go. We drop product on the 8th, 18th and 28th of EVERY month. Talk about a exciting schedule.
8. SUPER CRAZY SALE Continues! We have had to say goodbye to several of the older designs and characters, storage space is not finite so some may go even if not completely sold out. You have been warned, don't miss out!
9. We make mistakes... if your order is incorrect, we will fix it, no matter how many tries it takes. We are a small company, when working at Comic Cons my kids do the shipping. They don't know the characters as well as I do and mistakes happen, but we will fix ANY problem you have. Thank you for your patience and patronage!!
Thats about it for now... We will try to have a post about Legion Palooza 2 next month and how its going to work.

1. Our Etsy Store no longer exists. We will be moving on with ONLY the core Website as the store.
2. The twice a week updates will be going to a Monday ONLY release with 1 or 2 images.
3. After LegionPalooza 2 we will be going down in the number of monthly releases. They will still fall on the 8th,18th and 28th but the number of releases will be significantly reduced.
The economy is part of the reason, the other part is we just don't have enough support on all the different lines. That's on us, I guess we bring to much out. We will continue to support all the lines but the releases will just be smaller and take longer to complete. Regarding restocks of certain characters.. they will have to be VERY popular to be restocked.
Thank you ALL for your Support and Patronage!! See you in the funny pages!
