No robotics cabaret
GL, while Star Boy’s actions helped, there is another recurring reason why…

Also not the Athramites - they were more fashion than architecture
Hint: a Legionnaire's habit was responsible

What was the main reason that Chuck Taine's work rebuilding Legion HQ never really finished
It is related to something a Legionnaire does repeatedly
- not because the HQ transferred to Legion World - not related to tryouts - not because of Gear, Athramites, Star Boy crashing through walls, Element Lad transmuting things, or Robotica

also another hint Well, I'm pretty sure that Brainy did some damage from his lab.
I remember Chuck coming to tears as Leviathan and Star Boy were fighting after he'd finished repairing it
It got pulverized during the Daxamite battle. GL, I think you're going to have to pick one guess only, instead of three to be clear, I didn't comment on GL's earlier post because there were like 3 reasons given, but we should only be guessing one at a time

Powerspheres became too expensive, causing an energy crisis. The Legion had to downsize to a 2 bedroom flat on the outskirts of Metropolis, so Chuck never got the old HQ fixed up the way he wanted.

It turned out that the HQ was the post boot Fortress Lad. Chuck had become so intimate with Fortress Lad's inner workings, that they both left the team, when they were married.

See? It happened again! Okay, I honestly thought that this was not the correct answer, but Brainy's repeated lab destruction

LOL at your 2nd-to-last post cut off...
you got it! it was indeed Brainy and his consistent lab blowing up! Brainy even tells Chuck to "clean it up" after he blows the lab up...
and then we get a scene with Violet comforting Chuck, "Isn't it nice if something occurs to extend your assignment with us?"
Chuck even later jokes to Tenzil that he now has a weekly "Brainy blows his lab up" contingency plan
funny enough, it would also be commented that Brainy's lab-blowing-up is part of his scientific method
it is one of the best running jokes from the pre-DNA Reboot era, in my opinion

Can't believe GL snuck in there with the right answer. I must have been getting really close.

Your hints made it pretty obvious to me Ibby. Anyway you got there in the end GL.
Uo oh, this means now you have to think up a Legion trivia question. Hope your ADHD lets your brain juices flow.

The three judges of Lithyll? Not sure on spelling. Well, I was going for their names, but since I didn't get that specific in the question, I'll give it to you! Nice job, btw. Spelling is close enough.

Tee hee. I did notice that you'd not asked for names and tried my luck. Myg was one. Was the older, bearded man Gorax Leaving the antlered bloke as someone with Steg in the name... something like Steggor...

Ah yes, Gorax Of The Blue Loincloth, Red When The Blue One Is In The Wash; the champion of a linen based group of knights.

Ah was that the reason. I thought it had to do with a colouring issue with the Baxter process.
