Hi Emily, is your Harry Potter parody meant to be a solo story or a group thing?
Re age - I'm good with everyone being at the same age. I think it would make things easier.
Re magical racism - it would be a good element to keep, but would it be in use among the player characters? That is, would we have to identify which of our characters are "half-blood", "pureblood" and so on in the context of the Harry Potter world?

I am not totally sure if I want this to be a solo or group project yet. I am beginning to develop a vision in my mind and might start rough-drafting next week. I am still trying to work out which Houses characters should go into, and if I should really sort Sebastian into Slytherin because I am having second thoughts. Should we be first-years?
I want to set up the story so that we are in the the same year as Ted Lupin, so the race factor would be less important than in Harry Potter's days. We would not have to identify our characters blood in the context of Harry Potter, because I suspect we will be parodying the first book/movie or the best bits of the entire series. Should all the characters be aware it is not their universe?

Hi Emily,
One advantage of being first-years is you can start the characters "fresh" so to speak. They'll be encountering the other students, faculty etc. for the first time too.
Ooh, Ted Lupin. So it's the next generation, so to speak. That will eliminate the blood factor, unless you have some characters who are old-fashioned and still clinging to their blood purity beliefs.

That would deprive the LWers of a good story that's why I told you to post. I'm sure they enjoyed reading it as much as I did.

A scene left on the cutting room floor from a fanfic I'll probably never finish;
"What about the Terror Twins?" Mai Li asked, running down the list of Winathian extra-legals who might contribute to their enterprise.
"Even by Legion of Super-Villain standards, they were considered too unstable and unreliable." Mekt said with a grunt, recalling some of the people that the LSV didn't think 'too unstable.'
"Well, yeah, the rest of the UP thinks you're crazy," Mai Li says with a rueful grin, before she thinks better of it.
The room grows quiet as she feels the small hairs rise on her arms with the sudden increase in static electricity. She is afraid to look at Mekt, to gauge his reaction, regretting her overly familiar tone. This was no simple man, to joke with, but an unpredictable elemental force of nature, capable of leveling a city, or killing one incautious girl, if his temper is roused.
As quickly as it rose, the static levels descend, and she can feel the energy dissipating away, as if a storm had come into being, and passed, without wind or rain or any other visible sign of its presence.
Mekt emits a strange sort of half-laugh, breaking the tension. "The United Planets thinks I'm crazy? The United Planets can bite me."

Nag, nag, nag... just like a dame, am I right, fell...AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!
I was just kidding, My!
Put down that sword!
Whew... that was close.
So yeah, apologies, I'm been going through some real-life stuff for a couple months that has kept me out of the creative mood, but give me another week or so and I think we'll be getting back in that Klordny saddle.
Heh.
Yeah, we will... high five, fella....AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!

OK, for anybody that noticed "The Long Klordny" bumped up, just a note:
Since it's been a while, I figured I should have a clean break point to start in again. I decided to pull the last couple of posts (the beginning of Part II) just to slightly rework them before continuing on. More to follow very soon.
PS: Killer stuff in LotO!

I like the interactions between Exnihil and Emily. We should really write something together involving this giant love dodecahedron we are creating in our stories.

Thanks, Ibby. That exercise was as much for myself as for any potentials readers - to get myself back in the swing after a couple months of not writing much. Hope you dig the real story. I'm having a blast with it. And Em, yeah - the Ex and Emily scenes are some of my absolute favorite bits to write. I love the dynamic between the full of himself Ex and the uber-serious Emily who just continually calls him out on his BS. I don't think the two would ever really get together romantically, but yeah, there is definitely a sort of tension there. If anything, it reminds me a lot of the Bruce Willis/Cybill Shephard dynamic from the early part of Moonlighting. In a nutshell: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7Xeh1zDgLU In fact... I think at some point, I need to totally rip off that exact scene.

Thanks Set, it made me laugh when I thought of it. It's going to be different to everything that's gone before in the Dream Boy series so let me know if you are enjoying it.
And more importantly, are you going to post some more of your fabulous writing soon?

Raz, once again thank you. I take it you guessed who Rol's father is before the (sort of) reveal? Things are away to get rather difficult for your favourite (male) Naltorian very soon so hang on in there and enjoy the ride.
And I'm loving your latest postlo3w story - I clicked on the link in your sig line and enjoyed the two previous parts, particularly M-E Lad and his gang at Pepto Uni (great name!), Brainy's dismissal of the Supes while he got on with his work and, in the post on this board, the sizzling encounter between Nura and Mysa - there's a huge story coming there isn't there? Lu's acknowledgement that things ain't right was very well written too. Very solid storytelling Raz, you should take a bow.
Speaking of solid story telling I've been meaning to mention for quite a while now just how fantastic Omni's reboot Legion tale is. The scene with Brainy and Rond in the Time Institute is my favourite amongst a very high calibre collection of wonderfully written scenes. Great to see the gang splitting into interesting groups to deal with their situation with the threat of what those that are being sent to the Unit will have to face looming in the background- it has a feel of a classic Adventure-era story and anyone who hasn't tried it yet is missing an absolute treat.
And of course - the return of MEL:TS! I have died and gone to heaven!

I thought at first the handyhands thing was just a homage to Mayavale, but then when he started talking about reincarnation it all came together...brilliant! Thanks for the kudos....I can't take credit for Pepto as that is legit the capital of Bismoll, the stuff with Luornu and Mysa will be bubbling away for a while as it builds up though..
