hmm... I have a feeling it has to do with disguises and false pretenses (Jan Jor is commonly known as False Pretenses Lad, after all!)
am thinking of Element Lad joining as Mystery Lad, and Kid Q I being revealed to be a Protean...
though I'm pretty sure this doesn't apply to Porcupine Pete...

I have no idea. I even checked to see if they all weighed the same or had the same height, but no. Also is Jan Jor the same as False Pretenses Lad? I thought the were different. I remember when I first read that issue, I thought they were indicating Jan Jor was Dynamo Boy, because I didn't know there was one.
