I know she gets into some trouble with artifacts of power at some point, but isn't she generally very competent throughout the series?

While I was initially actually distrustful of her because of the whole power thing, her depiction won me over with both her silly nature, as well as her down-to-business nature on mission, and especially as it came to her relationship with Vi.

When she was well written she was extremely competent as in where Ibby mentions, as well as in the last DnA sequence just before they altered her.

But the best part to me was her irreverent contrast to most of the rest of the Legionnaires. It was a nice counterpoint.

This was one of my favourite issues too. That final scene has stuck in my head for years.

I liked Zoe. While she seemed relaxed and liked having fun she doesn't come off to me as flighty nor flirtatious like Dream Girl in the original timeline. She just seems fun to me and appealed the most of the new legionnaires. Maybe that's just my hetero male speaking where a fun girl can be very appealing (move over Gim) but to me she is just likeable and I hadn't realised that others found her too ... unserious?

I liked a number of the art choices in this one. The opening page giving the Legion roll call as reactions to Andromeda was fun. Also there is good use of foreground/background setting throughout e.g. bottom p2 with Laurel's power in the front and the others reviewing her in the back, same top of p4, Lume shrinking against Gim's large face on p6, the reflection in Gim's eye as Cham comes to save him, the panel looking down from above past Cham to Zoe on p22, and of course the final scene showing off the three new legionnaires.

This is especially shown in the scenes on Imsk where there is clever play on the size-changing, with not just small and normal but several sizes in between. For example on p21 after Vi has knocked out Micro they both enlarge back to a size the same as some apparently Imskian SPs as we see Apparition's huge cloak in the background before Vi enlarges to normal human size with the unconscious Micro in her hand. There are so many little touches to show that shrinking is really part of their life and culture, like how many times we see large and small SPs together such as p14 and p15, the huge (by Imskian standards) hospital they are standing next to on p14 which only comes up to Ayla and Tinya's waists, or how all the Imskians are the same size gathered around Ion's body but from the display which is the only way Spark and Apparition can see them we realise that they are still really small. Something that was also a great idea but perhaps could have been a little better pointed out was that in the arena below the normal sized seats were lots of boxes with dots in them that I am sure were meant to be huge seating for a whole stack of Imskian spectators.

Oh and I hadn't noticed until this reading that Vi grabs on to the bottom of Tinya's cloak as they chase after Micro to help her keep up while still in her small size and obviously ready for action. Nice touch.
