It was indeed Gates! He joined a delivery company (makes sense for a teleporter no?) When he found out how poorly paid, and how few benefits, his colleagues had... he organized a protest and a union.

The joke was, in his interview he talked about his organizational skills... and he ended up organizing the employees

Gaseous Lad has it! Adventure Comics # 403 reprinted that full arc, from Lightning Lad's death issue, to Mon-El's replacement of him on the roster, to Lightning Lass's debut pretending to be him, to Proty's sacrifice. And also had some pages showing the most ugly uniforms that have ever appeared on Legionnaires' bodies.

So I was thrown off by the question, as I didn't realize any of those horrid uniforms actually made it into any stories.

I'm very familiar with the famous first page of these designs, as the Shrinking Violet costume is burned into my memory, but it took me a bit to make the connection. As soon as I saw the cover to the comic, with the iconic image of the Legionnaires standing around Lightning Lad, then it all came back.



In all fairness, some of the ones on this page aren't THAT bad (and Triplicate Girl's foreshadows the Reboot Triad in some ways). But Vi? Come on, did Dawnstar design that?

Since we are on the subject of dead Legionnaires, who was the second Legion member killed in the line of duty?

yeah, some of these are decent (Lu's and Ayla's), but some like Vi's... and Tinya's is so impractical!!! that giant medallion only works if it's a holo

Yeah I think the crazier designs are on the other pages. I dunno, PG's costume is fine, but maybe the medallion works like Bendis' PG HaloHoop.
