I just can't continue to buy the big heaping of dung that is Marvel Comics anymore.

My Lord could House of M be anymore boring..... The series was printed years ago its called What If.... The X-MEN and Uncanny X-Men are so bad I haven't read an issue in months same goes with Ultimate X-MEN............New Avengers is just not working for me either I don't want Wolverine on the team I don't want Spider-Man or Luke Cage on the team either...I can't beleive Cap would put up with this......I don't want Wanda to be psycho......I don't want Hawkeye, Vision or Antman dead.....I really enjoy New X-Men but soon its gonna be X-23 guset starring other random mutants.....So I'm doing it I'm dropping some titles

X-MEN
UNCANNY X-MEN
NEW AVENGERS
ULTIMATE X-MEN

but I will be keeping

Young Avengers (Love this book)

Thunderbolts

and Exiles

and will be adding the new Excalibur and X-Fator!

What gets me is back in the day House of M could have been contained in one double sized issue of What if for like a 1.50?

Nothing Marvel has put out since I came back to comics has excited me except for Morrison X-Men (which Claremont undid with one stroke of the pen)and Young Avengers. And back in the day my tastes were 80% Marvel 20% all else.

YOUNG AVENGERS is definitely the best Marvel ongoing at present. It will be second best when SHE HULK 2 debuts in October.

I'm still enjoying EXILES, and am hanging on by a thread with SUPREME POWER. Still enjoy ULTIMATES.

Hmmm... I don't think I buy any other Marvel ongoings...

Congratulations on your "drops", Icey.

It can hurt, but walking away from a book you don't enjoy anymore is the best thing you can do.

Yeah, congrats Icey. Marvel can really be annoying these days.

What I get that I really enjoy from Marvel:

Young Avengers
Amazing Fantasy #7-12
Captain America
She-Hulk (when it returns)
Ultimate Spider-Man
Daredevil
Ultimates
Ultimate Fantastic Four
Astonishing X-Men

That's more than most people, but is still a far cry away from the amount of great comics I'm enjoying at DC. I wish Marvel would get its act together regarding X-Men, Avengers and Spider-Man. Hell, FF and Iron Man too.

Good calls to keep:

Exiles is safely insulated from the mainstream Marvel world (usually).

Great Lakes Avengers is comedy, and very well done at that; ditto for She-Hulk.

Young Avengers are new characters who are actually interesting, and have no particular connection to the House of Mulch.

And the New Thunderbolts is likewise a new, different treatment of lesser-used characters--again, with no particular ties to all the idiotic mutant crap going on.

I can't believe none of you are reading Cable/Deadpool. I absolutely love that book and find it quite entertaining - right down to the letter column. Rather than 'House of M', this book has the 'House of Mmm". Whenever the book is forced into a crossover, Fabian does his best to make it a joke. It's worth reading.

I used to get Iron Man, Hulk, Daredevil, Spider-Girl, Deadpool/Weapon X in serial, and X-men, Punisher, Exiles, and Spider-man in trade paperbacks. When they axed the Deadpool series and Daredevil wasn't coming out regularly... I jumped ship. The only Marvel I get anymore is Ultimate Spider-man Trades. I may add Deadpool/Cable trades to my birthday/Christmas lists, but when it comes to Marvel these days... I'll wait for the movie. Their serials have left me seriously underwhelmed and I ain't waisting my money on them anymore.

I didn't even know what 'House of M' was let alone cared what it's about... I do know I haven't heard a good word about it and the internet is still whole...

Oh yeah... congratulations on dropping Marvel titles. smile

It's an alternate-worlds arc. None of the characters realise that they're technially back "home" smile

i may drop x-men myself and uncanny if it dosnt pick up. x-men is a boring soap opera now and has too many weird christian allusions in it for me.

i guess i dont buy many marvel books, i think i will drop hellblazer too....i havent even read this weeks book.

He's just making a joke of the crossover. The story itself doesn't really have anything to do with "House of M".

To be fair to Marvel, I've thoroughly enjoyed Dan Slott's GLA and THE DEFENDERS by Giffen & Maguire looks promising (haven't read it yet).

But those are only minis. frown

This month I ordered ONE Marvel from the Previews catalog... the new ESSENTIAL FANTASTIC FOUR book. The first half of this is ALSO being reprinted in color in the latest F.F. MASTERWORKS (the end-of Jack Kirby's run-- gee, it ONLY took 'em 17 years to finish the reprint run, he said sarcastically) but I have MOST of the originals, and I just don't wanna pay that much for the ones I'm missing UNLESS I can find cheap copies of the original printings. (Also, from what I've seen, the ESSENTIAL books seem to have better line reproduction than the MASTERWORKS-- or is that only when the MASTERWORKS books go back to the early 90's?)

Right now the only Marvel I get:

X-Factor- I'm a Siryn and Rictor fan
Cable/Deadpool- Fabe gets Cble like nobody else
Thunderbolts- Fabian Nicezewea has the coolest name
Thing- just started because of Slott's plea

I've been too burned by X-this or Spidey-that. I know you love Young Avengers, Lash. But I can't get intoa book that's routinely late. And Bendis has killed Daredevil and the Avengers for me.

Sigh

Whooops, YA is *so* late, I forgot it-- as I did ULTIMATES.

I'll edit 'em in the list.

There are only two ongoing Marvel comics that I buy:

X-FACTOR, which is my favorite comic in the world right now.

FANTASTIC FOUR, which has slowly been growing on me since J. Michael Straczynski and Mike McKone took it over last year. I'm normally of the mind that FF should have been cancelled in 1970. Up until now, the only other post-Lee/Kirby runs that I liked were those written Marv Wolfman in the late 70s and Walt Simonson in the early 90s (I haven't read Mark Waid's run because I don't like Mike Wieringo's art.) But JMS and McKone have really been hitting their stride lately. I highly recommend it.

And I'm also planning to give the two core X-books a chance when they change writers this summer.

I really want to read the new Moon Knight. Finch's art looks awesome, in the truest sense of that word. But I fear he won't keep a steady schedule. And I don't know that I can handle another Marvel disappointment.

Well, I just added a Marvel title to my (non-pull-box) list.

It's my only one, and the only title of any kind right now aside from "SLSH."

But I couldn't resist "Ms. Marvel," and that delectable Cockrum outfit of hers, especially with my already owning her original '70s series.
