Hmm... well, not to be predictable but I'm reading Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane, and I bet other chicks would dig it. Most of the Ultimate Marvel line is really accessible and I, personally, dig almost all of it.

But, really, I don't think any of my girlfriends would read comic books. Hell, most of my guy friends aren't really into that sort of thing. shrug Maybe the stuff that isn't super-hero oriented but that's my favorite, so... I dunno.

None of my friends (female or male) are comic book readers, but some of the titles I've tried to push on them are Fables, Finder, Girl Genius, the Buddha series by Osamu Tezuka, Bone and some individual GNs like Blankets (Craig Thompson - his Carnet de Voyage is also good), Get a Life (Dupuy & Berberian).

Much as I like superheroes, I wouldn't give a superhero book to a non-comics reader. There's just too much resistance.

X-Factor, X-Factor, X-Factor. And did I mention X-Factor?

Read LEGIONS OF 7 WORLDS in the Bits forum:

I'm just now in the middle of hinting to a fellow Lost fan that she should check out Birds of Prey. I've also been suggesting newuniversalto some people, too. You don't need background info for that yet, and it might be of interest to Heroes fans. (The shallow fact that one of the characters looks just like Josh Holloway doesn't hurt. wink ) I've been meaning to recomend Skip Beat to female Lost fans, too. The lead chracter's a lot like Kate from Lost and there's no superhero or SF elements to it, but it's not simply a romance story, either.
