Did anyone see this, from DC DIrect?
GUARDIANS OF METROPOLIS SPECIAL GETS NEW NAME
Please note that THE GUARDIANS OF METROPOLIS SPECIAL #1 (SEP080140) and THE GUARDIANS OF METROPOLIS SPECIAL #1 Variant Edition (SEP080141) will arrive in stores with the new title ADVENTURE COMICS SPECIAL FEATURING THE GUARDIAN #1. This is "New Krypton" part 3 of 9, written by James Robinson, with art by Pere Perez, a cover by Aaron Lopresti and a variant cover by Victor Ibánez.
This title is on Final Order Cutoff on October 16 and is scheduled to arrive in stores on November 5.
So, it really seems Geoff is trying to rebuild the old Superman franchise...

I hope so. I don't know why they don't save that title for the Legion instead of handing it to "the guardians of Metropolis" whoever they are.

I could stand to see the Legion Headlining in a new Adventure Comics.
A nice blast from the past. Maybe it will lead to a clearer path to the Legion's future.
Damn you, you kids! Get off my lawn or I'm callin' tha cops!
Something pithy!

I hope they continue with the original numbering, digest issues and all included in that tally.

.....As for the Legionaires, I expect a new Adventure for them shortly. Stay tuned. All the best, DD DD wasn't referring to the Newsboy Legion, was he? I hope this is true. The implication is a Johnsboot Legion in Adventure Comics. The downside is that it will probably be as "Superman & the Legion", which from a story-telling/characterisation point of view would be bad IMHO but would increase the target audience.

Actually, some kind of amalgamated Newsboy Legion of Super-Heroes doesn't seem completely implausible...

I was just coming to post what Haggard Lad did, so instead I'll just spoiler it:

I was going to skip this completely as I don't like Robinson all that much, but that's one of my favourite Legionnaires. However, if that's the totality of the appearance, I won't be pleased.

Based on DC's use of the characters to date...my fear is that he'll end up as sushi at the end of the story.

I would be surprised if this appearance is setting him up for L3W.

WOW! I just raced here after reading that preview to see if anyone else had seen it. I think seeing that appearance qualifies as one of the most unexpected things I've seen in a comic in a loooonnngg time.
Click Here For A Spoiler Tellus ... and the Metropolis Guardian! That is the weirdest team-up I have ever seen in my life. I LOVE it!
I am a bit worried for his future now though but I'm hopeful he makes it through. He's a character that is long overdue some time in the sun.

Yeah, at first I thought it was some random Hykranian (that don't look right...), but the close-up of the ol' flight ring made me smile. It's been a looooong time since Tellus has graced a new comic, hasn't it?
The last time he did, I found his characterization less than pleasing (Dark Circle membership? Please...)
Here's hoping he survives his ADVENTURE and returns to the LSH (or gets rescued by some of them?)
I wish he'd turn up in Three Worlds. I'd like to see a nice long scene between him and Gates. That'd be entertaining. Nonhumans exchanging their unique perspectives.

Sollicits for Lo3W speak of a mysterious mission to the 21st century... Maybe it's linked.

Inertia was an evil clone of Bart Allen. He was killed by the Rogues in Final Crisis: Rogues' Revenge.
Has anyone read Adventure yet? My comic shop didn't have any copies on the shelf.

Yes it is a good issue storywise it fits between the Jimmy Olsen Special and Superman 681.
With the exception of the images already seen there is only one other mention of Tellus so it is not apparent yet how significant to the story he is.
What I suspect might be happening is there will be a few of these Adventure Specials and they will slip a Legionnaire or something related to them in each one as a kind of teaser before the series returns properly.
Which I think is pretty cool if true!
