A FREEDOM FIGHTERS ongoing!

Obisidian on the cover of JSA- finally the egg has hatched (or something)!

The official solicit for THE GREAT DARKNESS SAGA (including Annual #1 and the issues leading up to GREAT DARKNESS)!

A JSA special in which the KINGDOM COME stuff apparently comes to a head (and hopefully takes KC developments out of the regularly appearing DCU stories permanently...) Downside- Magog guest stars.

A Duela Dent as Joker Japanese/Manga statue! No way in Hades I'm laying down $70 for this (it doesn't even really look like Duela, IMO), but I'm still glad to see this character used in toy/statue form.

Feel free to post Marvel or other companies info as its released!

What catches your eye?

An FF ongoing? I cannot believe it. That's a shocker. This could go either way.

And it's Palmiotti and Gray (I've forgotten the artist...), so it *should* be consistent with what came before! The premise of facing a threat or an outgrowth of a threat from America's pre-Mystery Men past is a nice hook for the team. I hope the title goes back to that well.

TITANS features Arsenal smooching Cheshire on the cover ( puke ).

TEEN TITANS is, I think, the last of the current writer's tenure with Krul taking over. It appears to be a membership shakeup issue. I was wondering when TT would have one of those-- it's been so long...

Ending on a good note, TEEN TITANS GAMES (by Wolfman and Perez) finally gets an official solicit.

Amen, brother! I may have a lot of respect and admiration for DC's characters, but I simply hate Cheshire. She's not even interesting or sexy, she's pathetic. I ever get my hands on her writing wise it'll be a bloodbath.

Of course, I never buy the toys, but seeing Duela....

Two notes from the September solits:

No Brave & the Bold? Isn't there no issue in July as well? Is B&B going bi-monthly?!?!

Batman & Robin # 16--is it supposed to be the last issue? The solit calles it the "finale", but there's no "Last Issue" not anywhere!

Anyone have the scoop on these?

Hm. Actually it's THIS month that B&B will skip. Methinks JMS is having trouble writing three monthlies....(he better not give up B&B shake )

It's the one most likely to go. I don't think the sales have ever been all that.

Yeah, I'm afraid of that. Hell, I'd rather it does go to bi-monthly rather than have JMS leave. I've a feeling B&B will be better than any of the other projects he's working on.

Going bi-monthly would be the kiss of death.

Best case if JMS can't stay on would be to hand it over to an up-and-comer to see what could be done.

That's not very "best case" considering the superior work JMS is doing on the book! shake

No, if JMS leaves, I doubt I'll hang with B&B.

The quality of work is irrelevant given the relative lack of support the book has.

I figure the book will be quietly cancelled if/when JMS leaves, but if I had a say I'd keep it around as an experience builder for new talent.

Yeah, definitely gonna get that one. Disappointed, however, that it's regular size and $3.99 AND Cooke's only doing one-third of it. I thought I'd read it was one-half?

Oh well, still gonna get that one, possibly the G.I. Combat one with Sturges and Winslade as well. The other three don't seem to have the creator appeal those two have (other than on the covers).

Hey Mystery,

I saw an interview with Scott Kolins, and he was taking over the writing/art on Magog, right before it got canceled. I believe that solicited JSA Special is actually just to tie up the loose ends of the Magog series, and it would have been in his title "guest starring the JSA". As much as I love the JSA and Kolins, I plan on skippin' it!

On the bright side, Freedom Fighters can have my money instead!

Gah! All this talk about The Brave and the Bold getting cancelled is seriously harshing my vibe!

It's my favourite book on the stands right now! It had SO better just be on a skip month in September!

Which is entirely possible. Wasn't the Adam Strange/Lois Lane pairing only in the previous month's solicits? And wasn't the book bi-monthly before JMS took it over? Don't see why it couldn't be again.

I would be sad if that were the case, but I could live with it if that's what it takes to keep JMS giving us great tales here.

Those 'War' books all look great too but $3.99 for 32 pages? That's a price I am not willing to pay.

Titans, JLA, JSA, Outsiders - all blah to me. You know DC has seriously ****ed up those properties when even a dedicated DC-team fan like me can barely muster the enthusiasm to even read the solicits about them.

I assume they'll eventually collect the War Comics as a trade? If so, that's how I'm buying them.

Picked up Outsiders when they "killed" Batman. Dropped it before Blackest Night, long before Didio started writing.

Dropped all Titans books and JLA books in protest.

Kept up with JSA, but not buying Robinson's issues.

I can't believe that Games is actually coming out! The last I had heard, it was indefinitely shelved with little hope of ever being finished.
