Well, I am - since today. It's the first webcomic I got into since PVP, done by Warren Ellis with art by Paul Duffield whose art looks a little bit like the Luna brothers.

Great stuff in a kind of post-apocalyptic, flooded London. Superhero meets dystopic SciFi story.

And the best thing about it: it's for free: http://www.freakangels.com

Take your time, it's about 120 pages to read already - I liked it a whole lot, let me know what you are thinking about it... I especially liked the different characters and the way they were slowly introduced one by one. Liiiiiiiiiiiittle bit of 5YL approach, but that's just my feeling about it...

Looks pretty good, CK. I'm 4 chapters into it; I'll probably finish it up tonight. Glad to see there'll be actual physical collections-- gotta make sure I order this!

There was a preview of this somewhere - on-line or in Previews - a while back. But I'd forgotten about it - so thanks for the link CK! It's pretty interesting so far (episode 1).

I stopped about halfway through the online chapters, as I fully intended to order the physical trade collection, and wanted to save some of the story.

Then I promptly forgot about it.

Luckily, I was cleaning up my bookmarks tonight and came across the one I'd created for the FA site. I went and checked the DCBS listings, and there it was-- FreakAngels Vol. 1 TP

DCBS updated their order features to allow for self-edits of current orders for a limited time, and, voila! the FreakAngels trade is on my September-for-November order! cool

The first trade was in my November EOM shipment... awesome! lol

I see the online comic's up to chapter 37... so the second TPB should be solicited in 11 weeks?

:cantwait: wink

Still really liking the series. The recent attack was exciting. Difficult to get the right pace though when you're just reading six pages a week... so I waited some weeks to have more to read at once.

Don't know about the next HC though. I guess if sales are right, which I hope they are, they certainly won't disappoint the readers smile

I just discovered it last week and read through the whole thing. I quite like it. I like the pace, I like how the story unfolds slowly and the main characters are still somewhat of a mystery even after almost 40 chapters. The only thing that doesn't do much for me is the name but whatever.

Chem, just checked this out from your posting. I like it. But then, i seem to be on something of a british kick lately, having spent time checking out Coupling, Green Wing, and Hotel Babylon.

I've being greatly enjoying this series in trades, so I was excited to see volume 4 in my DCBS "ready to ship" list! Wish I was still buying enough stuff to makes twice-monthly shipping worth it, but as it is I'll have to wait until my EOM shipment arrives July 5/6... sigh

Just read the fifth trade, and I LOVE this series! This is free online, people, so there's NO excuse not to try this out! Vol. 5 takes us up to weekly chapter #120, and they're currently on a skip-week after 125. I couldn't help myself... for the first time since I checked out the first four weeks online, I checked out the next five chapters following v.5.

(P.S.-- Full. Frontal. Sirkka. drool )

So, the sixth and final volume drops today ... looking forward to how this all reaches a resolution. I *just* added it to this month's DCBS order, but hopefully it ships with this month's EOM shipment.
