What's better than a TPB under the Christmas Tree?
Just curious, are the following released as TPB, and are they soft-cover or hard-cover? - Superman: Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow? - I think this is, right? - Supreme, the Alan Moore issues & whatever else he followed up with. - DC Archives for Captain Comet or Space Ranger
BTW, any cool TPB you think I might never have read. I'll stop you right here, first: I have access almost every Marvel and mainstream DC Universe comic since 1958, so I'm looking for more obscure, indepedent or Vertigo stuff.
Everyone else feel free to ask questions to the massive workforce/database that is the denizens of Legion World!

Supreme: The Story of the Year is available. That contains the Moore issues. DC Universe: The Stories of Alan Moore will contain the first reprinting of the "Whatever Happened..." but it isn't due until January I think. If you don't already read it or own the trades then at least pick up the first one of The Walking Dead (I will shill for this series until I become one of the Walking Dead). Also, you should check out InStock Trades for your purchases. All trades at least 35% off and all orders over $50.00 ship free. They are the trade service of DCBS and I (as well as POV) highly recommend them.

The first two have been\are going to be released in TPB form. I know the Supes: Whatever (hmm, why does that sound like an elseworlds title?) was released in reprint prestige format and will also be a part of the Alan Moore DC Collection TPB in January. I'm not as certain about Supreme, but I do recall seeing it on a solicitation somewhere. No idea on Capt. Comet and Space Ranger...
While we're on Alan Moore, was his Youngblood run ever collected? (The only time I'll ever mention the word "Youngblood" is when Mr. Moore's name quickly follows it)

Oh, and I know you have most of the mainstream stuff Cobie but do you have the TPBs of the Superman Dailies? The first 3 volumes cover the daily comic strip from 1939-1942 as well as a fourth that covers the Sunday classics from 1939-1943 are available at InStock. That's over 700 pages of classic Siegel and Shuster goodness for about $42.

I don't Scooter, and to be honest, I never even thought about them before. That's actually really cool!
Glad to know the Supreme stuff is collected. Lash told me about this ages ago, and I've been meaning to pick it up. The availability of trades for Image, Vertigo and other independent stuff alone makes their existance worthwile.
So, to summarize on Supes:WHMT --the deluxe, supreme, mona lisa $1,250 version is out, and it will also be released in the upcoming DC/Alan Moore trade thing in January. Is there a normal trade for this (like the Great Darkness Saga or regular trades for more recent comics)?
Thanks for the info so far Mon and Scott...anyone else with thoughts (or questions of their own) go right ahead!

Superman:Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow? was put out in '97. It's currently out-of-print; Lone Star has it in NM for $25.

That's why I suggest waiting for the Stories of Alan Moore collection in January. Get everything he's done for the regular DCU all in one book.

Along the same lines as the Superman Dailies, what about the old Tarzan strips? They're probably out of print, though. I haven't noticed them on the shelves in ages. Still, I've seen Burne Hogarth's Tarzan work and it's absolutely gorgeous. He was the first artist to break out of the basic grid layout, IIRC.

No such animals. Nothing in the works either, AFAIK. Along Arachne's line of thought, I believe the old Flash Gordon strips were collected as well.

Have you seen "It's a Bird" by Steven Seagle? A Vertigo graphic novel, about a writer assigned to write a Superman story. It's unusual - maybe a bit sad for a Christmas gift (he's dealing with a family member dying of Huntington's disease, which is hereditary). Some reviews at Amazon: amazon review
