I see a curious lack of dog-related characters - except for the wolf-types. Running around with your tongue hanging out just isn't an attractive super-power, I guess.
Holy Cats of Egypt!

The only 'dog' character I can think of is Hellhound - a minor league Birds of Prey villain who was killed off during War Games.

OMG. Timber Wolf was so obvious I guess I forgot him.
Cannus.
I think Hellhound was also the name Patsy (Hellcat) Walker's husband took as a super-villain way back in Defenders.
The Ani-Men were all animal related... Frog-Man, Dragonfly, Gort or Gorp (the big ape guy).... can't remember...
And then there's the actual ANIMALS, like:
Krypto, Beppo, Streaky & Comet.
Ace the Bathound.

Moondog (villain from an old Marvel Team-Up)
Red Rover (from Wildguard)
Mad Dog (Patsy Walker's ex)
Umm...does Kemlo Caesar count?
I used to get high on life, but I built up a tolerance.

Dogs lack the grace of cats, Cramer dear
Some people are like slinkys: not really good for anything, but they bring a smile to your face when you knock them down a flight of stairs
