I generally use the site I get my comics from, www.dcbservice.com . I can get individual figures for $12.50, or discounted sets like the upcoming DCD New Gods for $40. I'm using Cornerstore Comics ( www.cornerstorecomics.com ) for my Mattel DCUC stuff. I had a good experience with the first set I bought from them and plan on preordering the next two waves. If you're paying by credit card they don't charge you until the merchandise is ready to ship.

Thanks POV.
Shipping just kills me. It would be cheaper just to go to the local store and get them....

That's why I usually use my subscription service for DCD. It's even better now that they've adopted a $5.95 fee for once a month shipping... it used to vary by the total of the order. CSC is a little steep-- $60 for a sealed case of six, only five of which I need, plus $9 for UPS ground. But I haven't been able to get out to Target or TRU in ages, and my local SuperWal sucks.

I wish I had your Target. I swear mine hasn't restocked at all since Christmas.
On a happier note, I stopped at a 24-hour superstore (Meijer -- a Michigan and couple other states chain) on the way home from the movie theater to see if they had a Green Lantern (and/or a JLU Blue Devil) and discovered some new Super Friends toys.
They had three big plush characters: Superman, Batman and Flash. Hit them in some way, and they make a sound effect. As much as I like the Super Friends line, I thought they were pretty lame. With all the cheap technology at our fingertips, you'd think they could make more than one sound effect. But on the back of the box, it showed the wave 2 figures (Cyborg, Hawkman, et al).
They also had new Superman and Batman cars -- small ones not big enough for figures.
So I guess Wave 2 is close. I can't wait to get a Hawkman!

Looks like Eaglemoss (the UK company behind the Classic Marvel Figuring Collection) is finally getting their DC version off the ground. Forbidden Planet has a special offer for the first release; Batman. Only £2.99 instead of £6.99 ($6.00 US vs. $14.00 US roughly). Due to be released on my 16th wedding anniversary. I wonder how long before DCBS starts listing them available from Diamond?

Mattel has answered a specific question about DCUC figures for the LSH 50th: Q1: Legion of Super-Heroes figures ?!? Any word at all ?!? 2008 is the 50th anniversary of the debut of the Legion. Is Mattel going to do ANYTHING in conjunction with the anniversary?
A: While we do have access to the characters from LOSH, we do not have any specific plans to do figures specifically for a 50th anniversary celebration. We look forward to announcing LOSH figures in the future.

TNI: Are there any plans to make figures for the LOSH animated series or the new "Brave & The Bold Batman" series?
Mattel: We’ll be addressing both of these questions at the summer conventions! The complete Q&A can be read here.

8. Any chance we'll see any Legion figures in JLU or DC Classics?
Answer: A very good chance!
Looks like LSH figures will get the Green light for either JLU or DCUC. Full Q&A can be found here

Well, crap. I've been waiting forever for a Marvel Legends Adam Warlock, but this... : A: It's the Infinity Gauntlet outfit, not his classic 70's Starlin costume... or even his Gil Kane "first appearance" duds. but more disappointing, B: It's part of a Target-exclusive wave, which means it'll be a b!t@# to get ahold of.

Mattel is releasing, in the last half of 2008, 54 Characters in their DC Infinite Heros line. It will be a 3.75" (1:18 scale) line including things like GCPD guards and 'other' police agencies.
I have a feeling it will be among these that one of the Legions will be seen.

Has anyone else gotten DC Universe Classics? Its another drain on the wallet for me. I love the assortment of characters.
Also, I've become a huge collector of JL Unlimited. Its about to become a Target exclusive and the Dick Sprang inspired "Classic Detective" Batman is a must.
I love toys.

rtvu2, I'm a fan of both. I was surprised with how much good stuff looks to be coming out of the JLU line in August. I was worried it'd lose steam. Very excited for the Giganta SDCC exclusives.
I'm not sure what my approach will be this fall for DCU. I originally was behind being a completist and buying them all, but I think I'll start picking and choosing after seeing the upcoming waves, even though my collector nature tells me I must have them all. At the price point and size/space they take, I should be more realistic.
Not sure how I feel about the Infinite Heroes line. They're a similar size to JLU and I'm such a fan of that line that I can't help but feel a little sad that they're making such a large slew of articulated figures for a new line rather than the existing one. Some of the sculpts look nice, though a few of them I'm not sure about.
I'll have to wait and see. I don't think I have the space nor time to collect all three series, and I've already started on the other two.

Future, I feel the same way about Infinite Heroes. I'll wait till I see them in the stores. I can't wait for all the JLU goodness. I am still debating if I want to get to San Diego or not. I just want to get the exclusives of both JLU and DCU. The DCU line has been great. That has to be the best Wonder Woman ever. And the wave 5 sneak of Hawkman? Can't wait to see what happens. As for storage and space, I have a toy room. Its the only way.

The 4HM take a LOT of input about their sculpts over at FANtastic Exclusive ( http://www.fantasticexclusive.com) They will be working on the DCUC line, A Movie Maniacs line that starts with Batman TDK and will include Batman Begins in the second wave, and do have some input on the IH line. By the way The 4HM are VERY aware of LSH but when I ask them about inclusion in DCUC they avoid the question. The IH line will be 1:18 scale (GI Joe, Star Wars) and there are rumors of a Marvel 1:18 line by fall as well so, since most of my collection is already 1:18 (Microman) I am all for the new stuff. Come on over and put in your two cents for DCUC characters and design ideas.

I wonder if the Legion aversion is leftover from the difficulty getting the cartoon's toy line in stores. Maybe they're hesitant to put out a product that, from their side of the fence, looked like it wasn't going to sell or get support. I'm not too surprised by the aversion anyway. I know team or character-specific questions given to Mattel reps when they're interviewed by fans tend to get deferred since they can't up and spoil what's coming out. I hear a lot of fans complain Mattel deflects all their GL Corps questions, though they have and will see some more product it looks like.
Outside of the fact it would triple my collection, my hesitation on Infinite Heroes is like rtvu2. I need to see them for myself. Some of them looked good, but others such as Supergirl had lackluster sculpts. I think the finished product will be a good judge for me.
Speaking of Marvel, was I the only one underwhelmed by all the upcoming Marvel Legends and related offerings? Not only are they all horribly delayed, but there's nothing I'm really seeking from any of the upcoming waves or dozen movie tie-ins. I'm interested in Astonishing Beast, and maybe Tigra or Spiral. But other than that, nothing looked too exciting for me personally. I might get all of Wave 4 (or is it now Wave 5?) with the Nemesis BAF, as I don't have a Punisher or Daredevil figure and as an old New Warriors fan I don't mind Nova at all.

To be honest I get the feeling there is something in the works and they just can't go public yet. They have admitted that LSH members would see plastic form soon and that JLU and DCUC are possible. Mattel, or at least some in charge of boys action figures, have seen the light and are doing a much better job of listening to those that listen to collectors / consumers. If you look at the Q&A that Mattel has done with RTM, Figures.com. TNI, AFI and others you will see that many of the thoughts and ideas form these fan basses have been heard by Mattel and are being acted on. You don't see the awful case packs of the last He Man fiasco and character choices have better balance within a wave than in early Batman lines. The simple fact that JLU will continue as a 'collector line' exclusive to Target shows that the company is willing to produce figures in smaller numbers to support a specific sales base.
As for ML I have been underwellmed since the move to Hasbro and predicted this drop in QC and design choice from the beginning. Hasbro is doing great things with the 25th GI Joe line but dropped the ball on ML and missed a huge opportunity to use the Sigma 6 body style where it could find it's full potential.

Two words: Mighty Muggs! http://www.hasbro.com/default.cfm?p...efault&keyword=muggs&viewall=yes I have long resisted the urge to both buy AND display geeky totems, but Mighty Muggs have won me over! I can already see a Muggy Avengers tableau -- Cap (whom I got for father's day!), Iron Man, Thor. Should I include Hulk, Wolvie and/or Spidey? I'm thinking the big 3 are plenty. BTW, I think what I love about these things is that the default body shape fits the bluster and bravado of the Marvel heroes. And the paint design is just awesome. Cap America has eyebrows, five-o'clock shadow and chainmail-shaped scalloping on the edge of blue short sleeves, plus a mod glint off his belt buckle. I wish the more "serious" figures had paint design and quality as good as these do. Mighty Muggs! Say it again!
...but you don't have a moment where you're sitting there staring at a table full of twenty-five characters with little name signs that say, "Hi, my superpower is confusing you!"

As usual, a huge amount of STUFF gets announced at Comic-Con. 2008's no exception.
From a variety of sources (actionfigureinsider.com, thefwoosh.com, toy insider news) come these:
DCUC: in 2009 -Camouflage Aquaman (that swirly blue suit from the '80's-- can Tempest be far behind?) -Flash Barry Allen -Captain Cold -Kid Flash -Big Barda and unmasked variant -Blue Beetle -Bootser Gold (modern variant, and Skeets open to show Mr. Mind) -C&C Atom Smasher
This is the first C&C wave in which I'd actually want all the component characters on their own. Or at least wouldn't mind having them...
Atom Smasher! I'm excited about that one. Wave 6 -Regeneration Superman (chase long hair in classic uniform) -Killer Moth (classic) -Hawkman -Mr. Miracle (Dr. Impossible chase) -Shazam -Kalibak Collect and Connect
I think this has been known for awhile?
TRU 2-packs -Cyborg Superman and Mongul -Hal Jordan (year one costume) and Abin Sur
INFINITE HEROES (the new 4 inch, non-JLU styled figures, which I've yet to see in a store):
Black Hand, Atom, Manhunter, Quardian, Hush, Batwoman, Question, Question with coat (chase), Wildcat, Batman, Power Girl, Star Sapphire, Black Lightning, Dr. Fate, Spectre, Captain Boomerang, Raven, Starfire, Black Canary, Green Lantern, Green Arrow (chase of GL in original uniform), Lex Luthor and thugs
TRU Oa 6-pack
Gotham Streets Batman, Killer Croc, Jason Todd Hush, Catwoman
Luthor 4 packs: 4 guards, Captain Atom, Superman Battle for Metropolis
Justice League Unlimited - Target Exclusive. Will release to non-Target stores outside the US in Spring 09:
Singles, 3packs and 6-packs
Wave II -Batman -Superman phantom zone projector -Bizarrro new paint (show accurate) -Sinestro- Sinestro corp
Wave II 3-packs -Fire/Ice/GL -WW/Flash/Question Wave II 6-packs -The Key, KGBeast, Batman, Atomic Skull, Shadow Thief Hero Pack -Superman, Bwana Beast, Deadman, Commander Steel, Vibe, Crimson Fox
Wave III singles -Booster Gold (show accurate) -Dr. Fate (show accurate) -Superwoman -Green Lantern John Stewart (standard GL uniform) Wave III - 3packs -Old Bruce Wane, Batman Beyond, Warhawk -Shade, orange Jumpsuit Luthor, Cheetah 6-packs -Psycho Pirate, Dr. Polaris, Gentleman Ghost, Tala, Devil Ray Wave IV singles -Ultraman -Red Tornado (show accurate) -Zatanna (show accurate) -Volcana -Batman 2009 Sneak Peek -Plastic Man, Firestorm Website 4-packs -Gotham Criminal 4-pack: Scarecrow, Clock King, Bane, Harley Quinn -Shazam -Legion 4-packs
That's right LEGION 4-PACKS! Don't know if this'll be figures sculpted from the late lamented cartoon or from the LSH episodes of JLU-- or something else entirely.
GENTLEMAN GHOST!!! Can't wait to see this one.
Also, there are Adam Strange and Starfire exclusives at the new Mattel website. Starting Monday, I guess, but I'm not sure.
As for Marvel:
Marvel Legends
WalMart Exclusive Wave- Ares Build-a-figure wave (8 figures) -Kang -Crossbones -Guardian (classic Alpha Flight version) -Heroes Reborn Armor Iron Man -Vision Ultimate War Machine -Ben Riley Spider-man
More ML 2-packs -Stealth Iron Man/Sharon Carter -Classic 70’s Armor Iron Man/Maria Hill, Director of S.H.I.E.L.D -DumDum Dugan/Hand Ninja
Spider-man Classics aka "Hero Movie Action Figures" 6" Scale -Tarantula -Iron Spider-man(clear tint) -Red and Blue Classic Spider-man -Juggernaut (classic version and red and gold variant) -Venom III ("classic" with a long tail)
Spectacular Spider-man (Animated Series) -Green Goblin -Electro -Iron Man Movie Figures -Stealth Strike Iron Man -Classic Iron Monger (blue) -Atmospheric Diving Iron Man (light blue and black with clamp on flippers) -Satellite Armor Iron Man -Captain America Armor Iron Man -Mark I armor Iron Man (gold version) -Torpedo Armor Iron Man
New Super Hero Squad -Nighthawk -Black Panther/Storm -Kang/Thing -Gargoyle/Thing -Human Torch(clear yellow)/Hulk -Green Goblin/Sandman (comic versions) -Winter Soldier/Crossbones -Rachel Summers Marvel GirlCyclops -Many Jane (with spider-man mask in hand)/Spider-man hanging from lamp post -Captain America/Falcon -Black Costume Spider-man/Doc Ock -Captain America/Red Skull (with cosmic cube) -Wolverine (brown and tan)/Magneto -Master of Kung Fu/Sentry
I'd consider buying Ares as a stand-alone, but I don't care a fig for any of the figs (ha!) in that list, with the exception of Guardian, depending on how he looks.
Not interested in anyone else on that long list, except for a few names from the kiddie line, which I probably woudn't pick up.

Does anyone get the Marvel Collector's Magazines with the lead figurines put out by Eaglemoss?
I've gotten a couple- Polaris and, this week, Crystal. I ordered them for the figurines, but I enjoy the magazine more. (Though I was appalled that of the Crystal issue's 17 pages, three comprised an article about super-hero divorces in which Crystal's name didn't even appear.) It's a treat to see page after glossy page with art from a favorite character's biggest moments. The articles are hit or miss-- but I discovered something new about characters I've liked for years in each one.
My other favorite Marvel heroine, Valkyrie is supposed to be in one of the not-too-distant assortments-- now if only they'd do Darkstar!
DC magazine/figurine sets are starting soon (I guess they're already out in the UK?) So far, it's been all the usual suspects-- if the line continues a couple of years (the Marvel one's now in the eighties, I think-- with plans revealed to go at least to 140), and Eaglemoss branches out to characters like Crys and Lorna, I'll be over the line.
