Okay, since no one got this here is the answer. The above song (since I posted all the lyrics) was from A Perfect Circle's The Outsider, off of their latest album. I'll try a classic one now since no one else seems to listen to my kind of music.  I never will forget those nights

BTW, the hint I gave earlier about a multi-talented band leader was a reference to (that I've made before in the past) Maynard James Keenan. He leads both A Perfect Circle and Tool.

I really like this song, but I could never make out the words since Michael Stipe was in mumble mode in those days.
