Maybe this song is not everyone's cup of tea or the group isn't. Here's another clue.
Medicated, drama queen, picture perfect, numb belligerence Narcissistic, drama queen, craving fame and all its decadence

Nope. This is a real recent tune by a group who's lead singer hasn't accidently killed himself. Yet.

Gotta be Velvet Revolver then, but I can't think of the tune right now.

Here's a non-lyric hint. I've mentioned the leader of this band before as being multi-talented.

Probably Evanescence, then.

Nope. There's a reason I stressed 'multi' in my last post. Here are all of the lyrics:
Help me if you can It's just that this, this is not the way I'm wired So could you please,
Help me understand why You've given in to all these Reckless dark desires
You're lying to yourself again Suicidal imbecile Think about it, put it on the faultline What'll it take to get it through to you precious Over this. Why do you wanna throw it away like this Such a mess. I don't want to watch you.
Disconnect and self destruct one bullet at a time What's your rush now, everyone will have his day to die
Medicated, drama queen, picture perfect, numb belligerence Narcissistic, drama queen, craving fame and all its decadence
Lying through your teeth again Suicidal imbecile Think about it, put it on the fautline What'll it take to get it through to you precious Go with this, why do you wanna throw it away like this Such a mess, I don't wanna watch you...
Disconnect and self destruct one bullet at a time What's your rush now, everyone will have his day to die
They were right about you They were right about you
Lying to my face again Suicidal imbecile Think about it put it on the fautline What'll it take to get it through to you precious Over this, why do you wanna throw it away like this Such a mess, come to this, come to this
Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet at a time What's your hurry, everyone will have his day to die If you choose to pull the trigger, should your drama prove sincere, Do it somewhere far away from here

Okay, since no one got this here is the answer. The above song (since I posted all the lyrics) was from A Perfect Circle's The Outsider, off of their latest album. I'll try a classic one now since no one else seems to listen to my kind of music. I never will forget those nights I wonder if it was a dream

BTW, the hint I gave earlier about a multi-talented band leader was a reference to (that I've made before in the past) Maynard James Keenan. He leads both A Perfect Circle and Tool.

Sorry Scott, I'm not too familiar with either group. The second song is "Boys of Summer" by Don Henley, yes?

No need to apologize Matt. Just my taste in music has changed as I've gotten older. I kinda go for the heavy Alt stuff now.
And you are correct. The new quote is from 'Boys of Summer'. One of my favorite Henley tunes. Next Tune to you!

I wish I had the time to stay up on things, I feel a lot older since I don't get to rock and roll all night these days.
Eastern-to-Mountain third party call The lines are down The wise man builds his words upon the rocks But I'm not bound to follow suit

I'll give a non-lyric hint first. This song was premiered by the band on "Late Night With David Letterman" (that's Late Night, not Late Show) before the song had been recorded or even named.

More lyrics...
Could you never call? I waited for your call, These rivers of suggestion Are driving me away
The trees will bend The cities wash away The city on the river There's a girl without a dream
The title of the song is not in the lyrics.

I seem to have gone too obscure so I'm going to give this one up, since after today I won't be back til next Thursday:
"so. Central Rain" by R.E.M. I know it wasn't a hit or anything but it was one of the more popular songs from their 2nd album Reckoning.
Somebody else want to start fresh? I'd rather not put up another lyric since I'll be away.

I don't want to hear a love song I got on this airplane just to fly And I know there's life below But all that it can show me Is the prairie and the sky
And I don't want to hear a sad story Full of heartbreak and desire The last time I felt like this It was in the wilderness and the canyon was on fire And I stood on the mountain in the night and I watched it burn I watched it burn, I watched it burn
The childhood friend Exnihil never had.

I really like this song, but I could never make out the words since Michael Stipe was in mumble mode in those days.

correct, QL, although I was actually thinking of the Joan Baez version, ELH did it first.

Here's my recent, but really obscure challenge:
"Surprise! It's me. It's drunk. I'm three. For a couple of hours, the city was my dance floor. Then I wandered around wondering why you don't love me any more."

Is it "I've Got New York" by Stephin Merritt's other band, The 6ths?
