It's certainly a good idea -- Joss and the gang have written some hilarious one-liners. Here's a paraphrase from the last season: Spike (to Buffy): who're you gonna call? (pregnant pause) Spike: That phrase is ruined forever isn't it?

This sounds like a good idea for another game. Give a quote from Buffy or Angel and guess who said it.

Oh yeah, I bought this book last month. It's quite nice, but it's a bit incomplete, in my opinion. Seasons 6 and 7, in particular, are woefully underrepresented.

Yes -- great bit of either foreshadowing or "backshadowing" by reusing that phrase! LL or anyone want to offer another quote? You've got the book, Big Bad...

Without the book. (but seen on countless ads for the show)
Buffy: Yeah, I get it. You're evil.

Boy I messed this up. I tried editing when I realized that I shouldn't have given the character being quoted, but hit Reply w/Quote instead. By this time I am assuming it is too late to edit out the character.

Ok, who said this then?
"The king of cups expects a picnic, but it is not his birthday."
Go on! It's easy-peasy!

Jeez, does EVERYTHING have to be a contest with you guys? So competitive.....
The only consistent feature of all of your dissatisfying relationships is you.
Don't judge me!

Hey, shouldn't we also ask/say what episode each quote appears in? Somehow I feel that playing it otherwise will turn it into a guessing game.

Do you mean the name of the ep? Cuz there's no way I'd be able to play this game that way. The Legion quotes game gets along alright without having to name the issue # even though that turns into a guessing game too at times and honestly, I think these threads get stalled enough as it is.

Yeah, that's what I meant. I still think that both instances don't compare, since Buffy has, at the very most, 25 quotable characters with very different personalities spread across 144 episodes, vs. the hundreds of characters with hundreds upon hundreds of issues behind them. Still, if everybody else thinks it makes the game too hard, then we'll play the original way.

Yikes. I sure do like Buffy but I can't remember the names of the episodes. Especially as most of them have one word titles which often don't seem to have much to do with the episode.

we could just give the basic premise of the episode in question or a memorable event in the episode. That should be easy enough. Yes? No?
but Bevis still needs to go.

OK so are we giving a quote and then people answering with who said it and a brief episode description? Am I understanding right? (and I should also mention that I probably *will* know the episode title. I really am that much of a Buffy geek).
Right then, this is possibly a paraphrase since I'm at work and this is from memory, but:
"But when we went in there it wasn't our world any more. They made it theirs. And they had fun."

Willow, "Prophecy Girl". Buffy and Willow were talking in Willow's bedroom after the vamp mini-massacre at the school.
