Is your character related to one of the male Legionnaires from Earth who joined before Shadow Lass did? (that would be Karate Kid or Bouncing Boy or Ferro Lad)

Yay! It's Jason Krinnski! I've been on an '80s reading binge, so not surprising my paws would land on the Cosmic Boy limited series where Jason Krinnski appeared.

In a US of rampaging, ignorant media led frenzy, Krinnski was a rare voice of of progress and tolerance.

whew! Glad that one was tracked down in good time. I worry when I stray from the main series with these things.

Not sure how I feel about Coz meeting his ancestor and being so closely tied to both Braal and Earth. One one hand I prefer his alien planet upbringing, but Earth plays an important part in his historical interests.

Over to you Ibby!

Cool! I'll lock this thread and start a new one later today, as we're past the 2000 post mark. Using my phone now so it will be hard. That was a good one, thothy

Yes, having Cos' ancestor be from Earth is a mixed bag. I wonder if Krinnski would later go on to become a Dominator experiment...

Activating the super-gene way back before the family even got to Braal. Interesting take on why the Krinn's were a bit special, even amongst other powered Braalians.

The 5YG-era retcons of Valor (Mon-El's) legend also retconned the origins of at least some Legionnaires' native superpowers. I think the Silver Age or Bronze Age had Braalians evolving their magnetic powers to fight metallic monsters on Braal. But the 5YG stories had several planets be "seeded" by Valor/colonized by freed captives whom Dominators had experimented on. I'm fairly sure Braal was one of those planets, alongside the likes of Tharr, Cargg, Winath...

Anyhow, I enjoyed chatting so much but I really should be locking this thread now smile We can pick up on the new thread!
