I was looking for the Duck, yes. When Frank took University2 to the syndicates, they thought it 'too weird' that Brandy would date a duck. And Xben, do yourself a favour and seek out some Liberty Meadows - surreal humour at its weirdest

I thought I knew this one (at least Pre-Crisis) because I have an old Superman annual with a story where Hawkgirl is investigating a Krptonian workshop found on Earth from the mid 1800s. Only I just had a look and in that story the character is called Var-El, but he's actually stated to be Kal-Els' Great-Grandfather, rather than just his grandfather.
