I was a big New Mutants fan back in the day.

On a related subject:

What series did Boom-Boom first appear in?

Yes indeed, the most enduring legacy of that pathetic series, she was.

Your turn, Kent.

What comic book series was (theoretically) set in my hometown, Hudson, NY (for its earth-bound locales, anyway)?

Didn't Robin in the Batman Family book attend college in Hudson?

That was Hudson University at New Cathage... not Hudson, NY, but good guess.

The series I'm referring to came later than the old Bat-Fam.

I LOVED Zot!

Alas, that's not the one (Zot's 'real' world setting was Tarrytown, just outside of NYC), although there are a few themes in common through both books.

Wrong company, but right era.

And generally right age groupings of a lot of main characters.

I want to say Rom:Spaceknight, but I think that may have been in West Virginia?

It wasn't the Omega Men, was it?

No. The Omega Men's brief earth-bases were in northern Canada (in GL) and briefly in Metropolis. By the time they got their own book, they were nowhere near Earth at all.

Right company, tho, and they did share one creative-type for part of their runs.

At first, when you mentioned "Earth bound stories", it made me think of outer space but, could it be, magical/supernatural realms?

What about Amethyst. Didn't DC have a supernatural team book? They were lead by Baron somebody or another...Night Force.

Baron Winter. (I just checked in my back issues of Swamp Thing)

I don't know about Amethyst, but I do know that Night Force was based in Washington DC.

I may be wrong, but I am going to guess the Pre-Wolfman/Perez Teen Titans.

Pre-Wolfman TT were on Long Island (I dont envy them).

walkingwithcrowds has it! Amethyst was indeed the book in question, although in the grand tradition of comics and upstate NY, the reality looked little like the comics.

Okay.

This might seem a little obscure but, people here should get the connection.

Which comic book had it's first few "adventures" set in,

Bialya
Russia
and
"Somewhere in the South Pacific"

ACK! That's what I meant to say! I forgot there was no America/Europe/International suffix on those early issues.
