Adventure 500 from 1983, the digest size of Legion reprints?

That's it! The cover showed Lightning Lad, Cosmic Boy, Saturn Girl, Colossasl Boy, and Shrinking Violet from the Adventures era watching the then current Levitz-era Legionairres on a screen. The back cover showed the mirror image, with the modern-era version of the characters watching their Adventures-era counterparts on a similar screen.

I hope this wasn't considered to be a cheat question or anything because it had to do with a cover, not a story.

Xben, we've used covers as reference before. Besides, Camtin got the answer, so it could be too obscure, right?

I agree with KK - seems like a perfectly legitimate question to me.

OK, I'll stick my neck out.

In what issue did we learn that Andrew Nolan was married?

Was this the Mordru-verse issue? Legion v3, issue 5 or 6, I think...

Christmas and Hanukkah? I'm pretty sure we've had those, though I wouldn't be surprised if we had more.

Definitely Halloween as well. Don't recall any other than those three, though.

Christmas and Hallowe'en, certainly. I don't remember Hanukkah, though...there is one more...sort of. If no one gets it soon, I'll just spill the beans.

Hanukkah was definitely depicted in that Legion Christmas story...that's how we discover that Colossal Boy is Jewish.

New Year's Day?

Thanksgiving? It'd be unlikely to be President's Day (unless it was a generic EarthGov Presidents and such Day). Maybe Martin Luther King Day if they did it to tie in with an actual MLK Day.

no...one last hint..the holiday in question was a merger of two present-day holidays.

Was there a "parent's day" or something?

Or maybe a Groundhog's Valentine's Day?

Or perhaps a Valentine's Halloween?

Just guessing here, obviously

Xben, Parents' Day - a merging of Mothers' Day and Fathers' Day - was what I had in mind. This was seen in "The 5 Legion Orphans" story. I think you can have the next question, Xben.

Okay, two part question: who is the first Legion applicant who had a genuine "super power" to be rejected on the grounds of the power not being useful or not fully controllable?

And who was the first such applicant to be rejected who did not eventually join the Legion?

By "first", I'm not talking about Fortress Lad or Blue Jay, but first as the stories were published.

Hmm...specifically on those grounds, I guess the first to be rejected at all was Bouncing Boy, and the first to be so rejected and never eventually join the Legion was Antennae Lad.
