How many costumes are going out or coming in? Are you ranking the alternatives in either direction as to their number of votes?
If you're keeping / dropping the top ten in both directions, I have to wonder if this isn't needlessly prolonging it all, really.

10 costumes going out, 10 going in. The 10 going out will rank according to vote, and then ties will be broken by cumulative previous voting. The 10 coming in will rank according to vote, and then ties will be broken first by the order in which they left the game in previous rounds, and then by total cumulative votes, if necessary. Basically, I'm doing exactly what you suggested in your last sentence. This is a one-round thing. I wanted to give everyone one last chance to see any old favorites again and try to bring them back as we enter the top 50. And I figured that doing a 10-in, 10-out thing (once again, this round only) would shake things up a bit and just make this round a bit different. It's just a twist. It's entirely possible that everyone who comes back may just be eliminated again in the next round. Or, maybe not. I agree that essentially I am prolonging the game by one round, but I do promise that this game is going to fly in the last rounds, probably faster than some will like. We're going to keep on eliminating in fairly large blocks all the way to the top 5.

Many of my favorite costumes come from the Legionnaires/post-ZH era, so it was tempting to bring many of them back. (And stop some of the Adventure era costumes I dislike more from coming back  ) But I'd rather save some of my remaining faves from being eliminated instead, so... This round begins with Dream Girl (Adventure) leaving the game with 5 votes. Next to leave, all tied with 4 votes, are Andromeda (Legionnaires (Sprouse)), Karate Kid (Kitson - current costume), Princess Projectra (Adventure), Timber Wolf (Giffen (Post-Great Darkness)), Wildfire (Slight Giffen re-design), and Supergirl (Adventure.) Oops! I made an error, the votes for Superboy were for Kon-El's blue jeans look, but that costume wes eliminated way early in the competition, so the actual winner was Thunder (Moy). I made the necessary changes in the post. Sorry about that!
