OK, I posted this on the headlined thread, so reply to it there, but I'm excited about noticing something in the issue and wanted to hear some thoughts on it. So...

SPOILERS

Alright, I don't think anyone said this yet, but I think we've all missed something very important: THE TIME TRAPPER IS IN THIS ISSUE.

Check out the page where Jaz, Cos, Brainy, Imra, Lu and Lyle are all sitting around. There is a panel where KQ stops talking and Lu says "Uh...Kid?". In the backround of the very next panel, you can see the Time Trapper standing there looking at the Legionnaires. If you look at the previous two panels (where everyone is exactly in the same spot), he's not there, and now suddenly shows up during the time-blip. It's definately him, just look, hood and everything.

So maybe it's the Time Trapper that is the main villian of this whole arc! Who knows, but I'm positive he's in this issue!

Pushing things a bit for a faded-out character in the background with a hood (not a robe, a hood - notice the chest circle) - it may just be a Durlan or somesuch.

But, since you made me get the issue out to have a look at it, I noticed another odd thing on the same page - why did Triad look at Dreamer to say "uhhh... Kid?" (Nura looks back @ Lu too). It just seems odd - if you were trying to get someone's attention, would you look @ someone else while you were doing it?

My views are my own and do not reflect those of everyone else... and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I gotta agree with Cobalt Kid. It IS the TT. Look closely at Lyle's facial expression in this and the previous two panels. Lyle can't see him but he senses his invisible presence. [Edit: I'm probably reading too much into this; more likely he's just reacting to Jazmin's "blip"]

But I disagree that TT's the villain. Who else can plausibly bring down Darkseid? It all jibes with issue #29 solicitation and cover art, which shows Darkseid fighting himself: "The penultimate chapter of "Foundations" sees the past and future of the DCU's most monumental menace collide, as time itself collapses!"

It just makes sense, and it explains a lot. [Edit: And there's always the speculation that the TT is really Jan Arrah.]

That hooded figure is kinda suspicious. None of the other people in the background are wearing hoods, and he (?) is just there in one panel and gone.

I don't think it's the Time Trapper, though. Why the different costume?

i noticed that character during the "time-blip" !!!

but as others have said, i'm not sure it is the TIME TRAPPER !!!???

although .... i hope it is !!! and it has something to do with the final page of "LEGION" #14 !!! which i presumed featured TT .....

But it wasn't DURING the "time-blip" Hoodman turned up, it was AFTER the "time-blip."

I think Jasmine is the key here. Strange things seem to be happening with Kid Quantum. Didn't Ra's al Ghul say something about her having more potential then she realized? Take a look at the facts. KQ visits Trom and plants some crystals (in the T Wolf spotlight). A little time later Garth shows up in Jan's body in what would have to be some wierd time warp. She experiences two different time glitches while no other Legionnaires experience any. Now let's see, who did she just put into a semi-permanent quantum field. Obviously, her powers have caused some sort of strange affect on Cub. There can be no other explanation. Cub = Time Trapper.

SLK, that's an explanation I hadn't thought of! Hm, now I'm more interested than before with this story...

Good stuff! Could Cub be someone that important? Tinya does have some connection with time travel through Phase...

If you're going to speculate, speculate wildly.

The hooded figure is indeed the Time Trapper. He arrived on Legion World in the human form known as the cadet "Retro".

Retro's powers are not entirely clear at this point, but involve some manner of time manipulation.

Note how he asked that embarrassing question about Element Lad. First day on your new job, and you're bringing up subjects like that? He's obviously looking for trouble and just pretending to be naive and well-meaning.

The circular symbol on his chest is, in fact, the clue for readers, matching the circled L symbol on the cadets uniforms.

I'm as sure as I can reasonably be that Jarth isn't the result of a time glitch - remember, we saw the crystals activate as Spark & Lu left, he didn't just pop out of thin air. Its a little "present" Jan left Garth, I'd say.

Which reminds me of more speculation of a wild nature:

When Ayla is talking to Jan's image, she says "You became something monstrous in the second galaxy". Monstrous = Monstress... ergo, Monstress is also floating around in one of those crystals and will be returning. Nobody dead after all, everybody happy. Makes sense, doesn't it? wink
