Hi all, I FINALLY got around to flipping through my Mythology book, a tribute to Alex Ross and his work at DC Comics. That man stole my heart when I ran SMACK into the one page he had set aside for the Legion of Super Heroes. I was just stareing at the paiting he did, not as a commission but as a totally dedicated fan, I actually started to cry a bit from looking at the image, it's so powerful and full of glory and wonderment. Here is the image, reduced down quite a bit. I scanned it into my computer and my wonderful CanoScan gave me a crisp lovely, large scan of 2336 (H) X 1010 (W) pixels, I'm not sure what that comes out to in inches but it's very large. I resized this one for you to gander at to a reasonable size of 900 X 389 Pixels. ![[Linked Image]](http://www.ramwolffsworld.com/PS_and_XaraX/The_Legion_of_Super_Heroes_by_Alex_Ross.jpg) In the Mythology book Alex wrote and I quote: Led by Superboy, the Legion was formed in the pages of Adventure Comics. Or , more accurately, they will be formed in the 30th centure, since they exist in the future. (It's all very complicated.) "This is one of my single favorite paintings. Call it fanboy love. My particular obsession with Shadow Lass influenced other character designs from my childhood. This wasn't a commissioned piece initially; I just did it because I loved the characters and I was thrilled when the Warner Bros. Studio Stores made it into a Giclee print. How can you not love the Legion? They are young, they're idyllic, they gleam with innocent sexuality. Lots of intertwining. It's the super hero comic as college fashion show." I love that you can actually see the Legion Cruiser in Wildfires face plate. All of them are dressed in the costumes I love and remember so well, including Cosmic Boy's very revealing black and chrome number!!  Couple of other notations is in the larger print you can see the Legion Flight Rings are in there too. Nura and Tyroc both have them displayed clearly. On Tyrocs fisted hand you can see the "L" clearly!! Lightning Lad actually has little bits of electricity coming off of his fisted hands and I didn't think Chuck was in there but he is! I was also able to make out Chemical King in Wildfires face plate and there are 3 others but I can't make them out, anyone got a clue?? I'm sure that some of you must have the official Giclee print, maybe it's bigger and clearer?? And dig Dawnstars glorious wing span, just super. Oh and I'm in there too in my old costume and I think I look quite fetching, don't you?? Enjoy!!

Seems to me somebody here has that Giclee and that's a great scan!
Amazing isn't it how many of the greats have the same facination with this low selling book called Legion as we do.
Legion really is different than the usual Super Hero fare.

Hi Mathew, I am so happy for you and so damn jealous too!! Lucky man!! I'm curious who else is reflected in Wildfires face plate? You can clearly see the Legion Cruiser and I think that's Chemical King but there are 3 others and I'm wondering if you are able to make them out with the larger print?? Look at it this way, Wildfires head position is mostly straight up or you wouldn't be able to see the cruiser and you can't say that any of the other 3 reflected in his face plate are any of the ones that are rising above him in our view because he is more forward in the shot so that would be an impossibility for any of the other Legionaires that we see coming up from behind him to be reflected, so...... who are the other 3 Legionaires reflected in the Wildfires face plate?? In order, I see: Superboy Cosmic Boy Saturn Girl Karate Kid Supergirl Brainiac 5 Lightening Lad Chameleon Boy Night Girl (Lass?) Princess Projectra Shrinking Violet Sun Boy Phantom Girl Duo Damsel (both) Ultra Boy Monel Shadow Lass Bouncing Boy Star Boy Dream Girl Colossal Boy Dawnstar Element Lad Light Lass Timber Wolf Tyroc and Wildfire (Legion Cruiser and Chemical King in visor) So there are 28 (29 if you count both Damsels ), 3 mystery members and one Legion Cruiser.... By the way, where can one purchase this print from?? I would really like that info too!!

I can't really see it that clearly in the on-line image, but if one of the folks in Wildfire's faceplate is Condo, then it stands to reason that the others would be Ferro Lad, Invisible Kid, and one of Lluornu's bodies.

But I'd already spent close to the limit I'd set for myself by the time I saw it. I'll just have to be happy with the reprint in my copy of Mythology.
