Just want to call your your attention to two new interviews with Mark Waid, both mentioning the LSH. Interview with Alan Kistler at monitorduty.com . Kistler mentions there'll be a follow-up with more from Waid about the LSH in a day or two, so check the site again then. An audio interview at wordballoon.com . The Legion part starts about 22 minutes in and goes on for about 6 minutes. A few minor spoilers follow. Spoilerish stuff Spoilerish stuff Spoilerish stuff Spoilerish stuff Spoilerish stuff Spoilerish stuff Spoilerish stuff Spoilerish stuff Spoilerish stuff Spoilerish stuff Spoilerish stuff Spoilerish stuff From the Kistler interview: AK: It might be a little early in the game for this, but is there any plan for the new Legion’s eventual meeting with the rest of the DCU? Is Impulse (or Kid Flash II as he’s known now) going to find out about this new future and wonder what the Hell happened to his cousin XS?
MW: We’re still ironing this stuff out and figuring out how to honor the cast of characters and keep things consistent without undoing anything that’s coming out of the new INFINITE CRISIS series and without creating MORE questions. So I don’t know. We are trying to figure out how the LSH will meet the DCU, because when it happens it should be BIG, it’s just not the right time yet. We’re still focusing on setting up the status quo. There’s been no pressure for it, which is nice, and if it happens it’ll probably happen in the upcoming BRAVE AND THE BOLD. We’ll figure it out. Comment: I guess the LSH and JSA won't be meeting in the Fifth Dimension after all, though it doesn't necessarily preclude a switcheroo or two. AK: Have you or any writers you know of been asked to consult on the new Superman movie or the script being written for the Flash movie?
MW: A little bit here and there, not that official. We’re called in every once in a while to talk to Cartoon Network about what they’re doing. Keith Giffen for instance, who worked on LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES for years, may be helping them out with a pitch for a Legion cartoon series. I don’t know if that will go anywhere. They’re not averse to picking our brains and we’re not averse to talking with them, because we ALL love these characters.Comment: Huh? I thought Levitz said the cartoon series was in development. Sounds more like they're still in the "pitch" stage. Nothing really new about the LSH in the audio interview, except a teaser concerning "dark things a hero will do" in issue #12. (My guess is PP will kill somebody!)

Thanks for posting that Tromium!
My bet on the dark stuff: Brin Londo - he's a hero, not a legionnaire - and could well be up to all sorts of dark stuff in Otherspace.
It was interesting that they're still working it out regarding the Legion & rest of post-Crisis DCU. Initially, Waid claimed he had the first three years of LSH stories mapped out - so maybe no encounters with the past until year 4? Or, as he mentions, it could happen in another book, not out-of-continuity but an in-between issues adventure.

On second thought, "dark things" is obviously a thinly veiled reference to Star Boy So, if the post-Crisis heroes of the DCU are no longer (to use Waid's elegant phraseology) "dicks", does the same apply to the 3boot Legion? Perhaps a change of heart in the works for our beloved bastard, Brainiac 5?

If anybody gets the Legion it's Giffen IMO (and Levitz).

I'm actually stunned they are allowing Giffen to pitch.
Pitch 'em Tenzil, Giff! He was MADE for cartoon (and numerous toy tie-in) fame!!

In one of the interviews Waid said that a reason for the reboot was because of low sales. That they had lost their audience. Sales for this are slipping and to tell the truth Waid is a huge name and Kitson is pretty big as well. I expected higher numbers and they continue to dip. Broad appeal. Something else else the Legion hasn't had sin ce the eighties. IMO

Being Supreme Ruler of the Universe has less practical value than you'd expect.
I swear they keep changing the info about this cartoon just to torture me.
