Dave Hoover, used to draw the Wanderers way back in late 80s or early 90s...loved that book...no mention of what caused him to pass away. hell be missed! frown

That's sad to hear. He was a good artist with a clean style.

Active LMB character is still Beast Boy.

This news made me very sad! I really liked Dave's style of drawing.

Holy Crap. I just saw this. Man, Hoover was a decent guy from what I've heard. He took over on my favorite run of Starman, the one with Will Peyton.

*I know, it's much cooler to like Robinsons' run more. I do like it, but Will was a character that I thought had staying power. he was outside the normal superhero haunts, he told his family his ID (well, sister anyway from what I remember),and was the type of guy you might hang with and get a beer and watch a game with.

I also have that Wanderers series.

Shame.

Damn you, you kids! Get off my lawn or I'm callin' tha cops!

Something pithy!

FYI, Hoover fans and Golden Age of Comics fans -- I recently re-read a 1993 Invaders mini-series he drew for Marvel (set during World War II, and written by Roy Thomas & Dann Thomas) and it was much better than I remembered. Definitely the best superhero thing Mr. and Mrs. Thomas have written since at least Infinity Inc #50. But what really awed me was Hoover's art. See, this was just before Marvel started trying way too hard to compete with Image, so Hoover just got to be himself, and he seems to have had a lot of fun working on this story. I think even people who don't normally read Marvel would probably enjoy it.

Still "Fickles" to my friends.
