OK so they "heavily" overprinted and it still sold out? Whats that mean in real numbers? How many comics did they print and sell?????

Last numbers we got were higher than 50000. Now, if it were ID Crisis, we'd already have a reprint with a new hideous cover by Mike Turner

Somebody at the bimonthly L.A. comic-book "convention" (dealer's room) this past Sunday was already selling a CGC-slabbed (9.4) copy of "LSH" v5 n1 for $25.00.
Oh, what fools we mortals be ...

Not sure how heavily DC over printed #1, but traditionally they would "heavily over print" by 25%. My best guess, until Barry or Mark or someone else from DC refutes it, is minimum 35% over print. That places it at a little over 68,000 sold.
To be honest, I think that's incredibly low....

Actually, if they did "insanely" overprint as the story says, and 25% is normal, it may well be an even larger overprint than 35.

So, doesn't that mean potentially another 67,192 members of Legionworld?
Or were some of the comics bought by Alt IDs?
Hic!

Well I ordered two at a 75% discount, two at a 35% discount and picked one up at the shop. Maybe I should have a couple of them CGC rated.

Hi guys - thanks - it is great news! When we were told DC intended to 'massively' overprint to avoid having to keep going back for new print runs (which aren't as cost effective) we really didn't think we'd manage to sell out - so we (and DC) are really really pleased!

I find it frustrating that this isn't bigger news. I know that the DC "Sellout" annoucement has become standard fare (in some cases justifiable "news", in others not so much) but the announcements usually go into the main pages of the larger news sites. So far for this one: Nothing on the Pulse, a Sidebar link on Newsarama and NOTHING on the DC front page. I recognise that without a plan to reprint, it's just hype for the rest of the series, but you think DC, at the very least, would push the story on their own Website!

Or were some of the comics bought by Alt IDs? Well, I preordered two and bought one off the shelf, but gave one away to someone less fortunate . And my remaining extra copy is going under the knife so I can frame the final printed page alongside the page of original art I bought from Barry!
