Can't pick one. The deaths of Invisible Kid and Superboy really affected me. Element Lad vs Roxxas was good. I also really liked the first Mordru story in the sixties that featured just Superboy, Mon-el, Duo Damsel and Shadow Lass. Really good stuff.
Go get'em Jan

Wow. From Adventure #247 till now, it's neary impossible to pick one single issue. Most of my favorites would be from the Adventure era, many from the (first) Levitz-Giffen run. But I guess I too might have to say Volume 4, issue 4, where Mon-El takes out the Time Trapper and, effectively, the newly-emerged post-Crisis Legion. The Pocket universe Superboy story had just happened two (real time) years before, and the pain was still there. Mon got the final blow, literally and figuratively taking out the villain(s) responsible for gutting the Legion, the Superman editors who didn't want to share the toys from their sandbox. I just hope this upcoming Foundations/ Superboy thing isn't just another tease; with sales in the 20,000's (!) DC can't afford to screw around with their readership.

I think I could make a case for the Post Zero Hour Invisible Lad issue introducing Jacque, Carlson's "Legionnaired #66."
It would be near the top of any personal list I could compile covering the entire run. I laughed, I cried, I begged for more.
Three major pre-boot characters were strongly developed, Lyle, Charma, and Jacque. A secret and less than altruistic aspect of the Earth (UP?) government was hinted at as well as a mysterious boss. The art was perfect with a great splash of a teenaged Jacque.

Hmm...this is difficult but I'm going with Legion Lost #11. By far the most powerful comic book i've ever read it has so many things to love about it. Who can forget the incredible revelation of Jan's billion year descent into madness, Garth's arm returning or the sudden death of Monstress. It would have been a tough issue to write but some how DnA made everything work perfectly. And Coipel's art was beyond perfect. Although his later art would become much more polished I personally think his efforts on this issue was completely spot on. Legion Lost #12 was a moving ending to an excellent series but for me the tour de force of #11 works everytime.

I think I would have to pick Legion #300. Those 6 alternate worlds were fascinating!

I have to agree with "He Who Wanders". Superboy and the Legion of Super-Heroes #239 had it all. The cover is one of my favorite covers of all time. The stroy was compelling and left me wanting more. The characterization was spot on. The artwork was beautiful.
Beauty's where you find it. Not just where you bump and grind it.

I think you mean Jack Abel. Joe Staton never inked a Jim Sherman issue. I agree that was a fine issue. The first since Shooter left for the second time that I thought was REALLY great. My all-time favorite is Adventure #340-41, the debut of Computo. Incredibly dramatic plot, an antagonist that scared the pants off me when I was 7, and that great Swan/Klein art.
