Isn’t that a special day somewhere or other? What is it again? A garage sale? Or do I have a dentist appointment maybe? Enough teasing, hope you guys have a great 4th And we will promise to be quiet in the morning so your hangovers get a chance to recover in peace

Some of us are still awake. Actually I'm watching Lifeboat on AMC. Not exactly patriotic but still a damn good movie.

Happy 4th!! Shame it's just a break in the week instead of, like, a long weekend or something. Gonna regret the boozin' in my 9:30am class. >< Oh yeah. Celebrating my country's birth by getting pissed and cooking BBQ for all my pals!! That's the way to do it. Now if I onl had some fireworks, the day would be complete...

Wow, I'm surprised by so many non-Americans posting here. It's belated, but Happy Independence Day! Now blow out the 220 candles quick- it's a fire hazard in this small apartment.
p.s.- cause I'm a goof, wasn't this past Saturday Canada's big day?
Just spouting off.

Some neighbors were shooting off fireworks in the street. And as some Legion Worlders can attest, my street is not very wide. I was just waiting for one of the rockets they set off to hit a car or house. It was a little scary.

It is? But, why am I not outside watching people set off fireworks?
Oh, probably because they've been setting them off nonstop for the last three days and it's been getting on my nerves.
Still, Happy Birthday America.

I found a nice spot in a parking lot overlooking a highway to watch fireworks from every direction. Then it started to rain.

Let's see. Went to ask some nice individuals down the street to stop with the fireworks at 10:45, as they keep waking my 2 year old up crying. As I walked up to them one of them threw one that missed my arm by inches and exploded about three feet behind me. I didn't flinch at all, and I thiink that made the guy who threw it flinch even harder. They've stopped now.
I hate this holiday now by the way.

Happy Birthday America! The weather could not have been more perfect and nothing went wrong today. Saw live fireworks and caught some of New York's awesome show on TV.

I got my comics, and hung out with a friend. I was happy to get home before Metro rail was clogged with party-goers.
Fireworks have bored and/or annoyed me for years now, so I don't do the celebrations.

I'm also someone who finds fireworks about exciting and overrated as celebrity dancing shows. But I still love the 4th of July as for me that usually means picnics with family and friends all weekend.
Lots of good food, good drinks, good people.
Happy Independence Day, fellow Americans!

It's Johnny Hancock!
Hmmm, considering his attire and the fact that he looks deeply vexed, I'm gonna say this portrait dates from the time of the British shirt, shoe and underwear tax.
