Bayanihan - A Filipino tradition where a community gathers to literally carry a WHOLE HUT from one place to another. Of course, these huts are made of bamboo and straw, but still...

The term has come to mean a spirit of communal unity in achieving an objective.

AngPao - literally, "red bag". Chinese adults place money in these red envelopes and give them to younger relatives (usually if you're single, you can expect some of these from relatives one generation older) to celebrate special occasions - New Year, birthdays, graduations, you name it.

The money is supposed to help suppress evil spirits and keep children young, but now it's mostly given as a form of congratulations.
