(sorry, Fanfie!) Uh? I agree. I think the Transformers live action movies are all terrible, and Shia LeBeouf is a horrible actor. Now, if you'd said the original TV cartoon had jumped the shark after the animated movie, THEN I'd expect an apology.

The Flintstones jumped partly with the birth of Pebbles, went farther with Bamm-Bamm and went headlong across our finny friend with the arrival of Gazoo.

[/b]Oh, contrary to popular belief some things can still continue to be damn good after they make the jump, but it's still not the same.

In some ways, "Peanuts" jumped the shark with the introduction of Peppermint Patty. The other Patty, Violet and Frieda all were more or less abandoned to make room.

Three's Company ... after Suzanne Somers left.
While both Jenilee Harrison and Priscilla Barnes were gorgeous in their own right, the show just sort of lost it's original charm for me once Chrissy left.

Bewitched is the classic example with the recasting of Darrin--though there were also two Gladys Kravitzes, two Louise Tates and two Frank Stephenses. Perhaps Samantha, Abner, Larry and Phyllis were all very fickle.

According to a Vanity Fair poll, 9% of Americans believe the phrase "jump the shark" has jumped the shark. Hmmm. That may have happened when Rick started this thread?

Dallas jumped the shark with the dream season.
Rosanne jumped the shark when she won the lottery -- which I believe also turned out to be a dream.

At least with the 99 reboots... of space, you can't really call any of the Legion WTF moments of the last couple of years "shark-jumping." Because by the time you've slapped your forehead and said "WTF, Legion?" the brass have already reset continuity and published another "Issue One" again.
So it's more Schrodinger's Shark Jump. Maybe it all went ventral-side up when ________ Boy/Girl/Lad/Lass _______ed the ______ with ________ on _____, but... maybe not.

The X-Men jumped the shark when Chris Claremont gave the Adversary the same vulnerability to metal that Proteus had had 100 issues before.

I think New Mutants jumped the shark when Sam started dating that rock star, only to NOT wake up and find it was all a dream.

Cleome, I agree that was more than a little creepy, but I also think there were some great NM stories after that: Asgard, Mojoworld...

Stargate Universe jumped the shark on the first episode.
Well, when one's lost, I suppose it's good advice to stay where you are until someone finds you. But who'd ever think to look for me here?
