Does anyone remember the deal with these. My husband recalls that they were from multipacks sold in convenience stores and supermarkets... I picked up a bunch this weekend and they are driving me a little nutty because the dont have issue numbers on the outside... Great stuff though

Yes, your husband is right. I have a few I bought as a kid in a local gocery store. Around 1978 or 1979, I think. Three to a pack. They seemed to be placed randomly. There were companies other than DC represented. I remember trying to squeeze the sides of the plastic wrap to get mythumb in and push up so I could see what the bottom two comics were. I actually still have a few doubles in my collection, where I bought the original DC off the stand, but got stuck with a Whitman copy of something I already had because I wanted the top book.

I used to have lots of them. A couple Superboy/Legions I got on eBay in recent years are Whitman reprints... including an issue from the Earthwar that I used to have, replacing a lost copy that was also a Whitman reprint!

The childhood friend Exnihil never had.

I think my very first SLSH issue when I was about 9 was from a Whitman multi-pack, but I don't rememebr for sure. I know I had at least three copies of Super Friends #14 (the origin of the Wonder Twins) with the Whitman imprint.

The only character in all of literature who has been described as "badnass" while using the phrase "vile miscreant."
