Hello all!
My name is Heath I am 43 years old. I live in Jackson, Michigan. I work in the Shipping and Receiving Dept in a local Auto parts plant.
My favorite Legion characters are Saturn Girl, Wildfire, White Witch and Dream Girl. I first read the Legion when I got a stack of Silver Age DC comics when I was a kid. They were Adventure Comics. I was hooked. I didn't read DC until much later when I was in High School. It was the Archie Legion and I sampled some of them but could never find the back issues or a good starting point. Finally, about two years ago I found #1-20 of the Legionnaires at a LCS and bought that along with the Great Darkness Saga. Currently, I have over 200 Legion books. I get more and more into the Legion every day. Now, I am diving into the fandom too. I listen to the Legion of Substitute Podcasters Podcast every week. The Subs have been critical for me to get a handle on all the versions.
My favorite creators are Giffen/Levitz and Waid/Kitson. My favorite stories are The Reflecto Saga , The Great Darkness Saga and The Legion of Three Worlds. My favorite era is the Baxter run, but I have a soft spot for the Archies.
I like trying to play guitar, going to movies and traveling with my family and going to the occasional comic convention. Music is my life's blood. I dig vinyl records and going to concerts. (We just saw U2 in Cleveland!)
I love history, especially Hollywood and comic book history. Someday I would love to write a very good book on Superman.

Hi Heath, welcome! Enjoy exploring the boards and getting used to your flight ring.
You will find good company here - most of us grew up with a certain version of the Legion, but appreciate most or all eras (I grew up with the "Archie" or Reboot team, but i've read the entire Adventure run up to 5 Years Later, and even the Threeboot).
Happy to have you on board!

Hi Heath!
It's great to have you here. The rereads thread has recently covered the Reflecto saga and is building towards the Great Darkness Saga. Thoughts on either, or anything else, are always welcome.
I recently reread some of the Waid/ Kitson run and I see more pluses each time. As Ibby said there's appreciation for all the eras as there's always pros and cons in each of them.

Welcome, Heath! My favorite Legion characters are Saturn Girl, Wildfire, White Witch and Dream Girl. Mine, too! My favorite era is the Baxter run, but I have a soft spot for the Archies. As do I. Music is my life's blood. Okay, are you my long-lost fraternal twin brother, the Garth to my Ayla? (j/k) I love history, especially Hollywood and comic book history. http://www.legionworld.net/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=917973#Post917973Someday I would love to write a very good book on Superman. I'll be there to buy it hot off the presses! We've got a lot of fans of sweet ol' boy-scout-next-door Kal here -- might I suggest starting a Superman thread in the Gym'll's forum?

Yo, my names Jack and I live in Margate (a rather famous tourist town in England)
I'm a fair bit younger than most of the people here so I was first introduced to the Legion through the animated series, which though flawed and not on par with many of the other DC cartoons, was my first real taste of what grew to be my favourite property.
Found a rather large trade paperback collecting much of the Silver Age Legion shortly after and was completely hooked from then.
My favorite version I've read fully is the Archie Legion but I'm currently reading back through the Bronze Age material which will probably soon surpass it.
Favorite Legionnaires are Brainiac 5, Matter-Eater Lad, Gates, Saturn Girl and Andromeda
Outside of comics; I make music, play video games and learn about history and philosophy as my main ways to pass the time

Welcome, Jack! i also started with the Archie Legion before branching out - though I still like the Archie Legion best because I grew up with them.

Pretty cool to have someone who started with the animated series! I would imagine there's a whole bunch of high school/college age folks these days for whom that was their first (and perhaps only) exposure to the team.
Anyway, have fun!

Welcome Jack! The animated series had some great Legion stories. Good to know you're enjoying the other eras as well.

Welcome to Legion World, Jack.
The Postboot was just a little bit after my time, but in the last few years I've collected almost all the back issues, and I've come to really love it.

If any of you nice young people are reading this, do please register. We'd love it if you did. Come one, come all, to the fantabulous Legion World ball! Again, what he said.

Name: Eric Schultheis Age: 53 born in 1965 Live: Richmond, California. I work in San Francisco, and my local comics shop is in Berkeley. Occupation: Accounting and payroll. Spent many years as a bookseller. I've been the Central Mailer for Interlac, the first amateur press association dedicated to the Legion, for the past five years. We have a website at https://sites.google.com/site/interlacapa1976/ and any questions about Interlac can go to me at protytwo@gmail.com. I started reading the Legion with Superboy #204 in 1974. I love the Adventure era, both John Forte and Curt Swan. Edmond Hamilton and Jim Shooter are my two favorite writers from that era. I loved Levitz's second run that started in 1982 while I was in high school. In 1983 I discovered and joined Interlac, and did APA zines for a couple of years. (I was also in the APA from 1998-2009, and 2013 to present.) Between Legion Archives, other reprints, and original issues I now have all the major Legion appearances, as well as a few minor appearances or cameos. I'm a second generation comics and science fiction fan, and attended my first convention when I was four years old. I would start seriously attending conventions in my late teens, just as my parents were getting out of the scene. I'm buying way too many comics. I like the current Green Lantern by Morrison, and Hawkman. Squirrel Girl and Paper Girls are great. And aside from the Legion, childhood favorites include Kamandi and The Warlord.

Hi all,
My name's Alex and I just joined the forum, so I thought I'd drop by here and say hi!
As you can probably tell, I'm mainly an X-Men fan, but quarantine compelled me to check out another big, sprawling, multi-character comicbook saga, and I've always been meaning to delve into the original Legion so I recently got started with The Great Darkness Saga and loved it. Very much looking forward to continuing on through the 80s now.
Long live the Legion!

Welcome!
You'll find lots of X-Men fans here, in the Dr. Gymll's Cultural Rarities forum.
I am one of them. My favorite era is the Fabian Nicieza years.
Enjoy your explorations of 80s and 90s Legion. And we'll be happy to answer any questions you might have.
Still "Fickles" to my friends.

Welcome to Legion World Alex.
Lots of X-Men love here, not least of all due to Dave Cockrum's influence on both titles.
