Gosh! And I'm in charge of all the news in my school paper!

And I also was the editor of our HS newspaper and the yearbook. Seems like we've got plenty of editors around. So when do we start up LWNN (Legion World News Network) ?

Wow! I've just spent an enjoyable hour reading over this whole thread, and I sure do feel like I know several people a whole lot better now! You know, I've never posted a profile to this thread. I may have to rectify that oversight soon...

Name: ...Gina Donahue. Age: 24 Where you live: Denville, NJ -- AKA 'The Hub of Morris County'. AKA 'Exit 38, I-80 Eastbound'. What you do: I am gainfully employed as a Starbucks shift supervisor, but I'm (as are so many others) trying to break into comics. God, such a cliche'd phrase. Legion info (favorite characters, creators, stories, eras; when you started reading; etc.): Cosmic Boy, hands down. Creators? Gosh, it's a tough call. My favorite run is Stern/McCraw/Peyer/Carani/Moy/Moder etc -- with emphasis of Moy over Moder; I liked the cute and the humor more than the spindly limbs. Stories? Well, given my obsession with Cos, I'd have to say the Sting, ending with LSH #80. Second to that is the Team 20 run. I'm far and away most familiar with the postboot Legion, as I've been reading religiously since Zero Hour, but -- well, let me put it this way. I grew up not far from the Joe Kubert School, and they used to have a crapload of back-issue boxes in the back room of the art supply store. So at the same time as I was reading postboot, I was also reading v3 and v4. This makes my head a complicated jumble of love and knowledge. I *am* the girl responsible for this past April Fools' Day character application for Fortress Lad. I could go on and on and on and on and on and... yeah. Other things you like (movies, books, music, etc.): Oh hell, I hope I'm not the sum of my interests. 1) I generally don't watch television. 2) I don't have to patience for movies, except in very rare circumstances or in the cases of certain favorite movies from back when I had an attention span. 3) My taste in music is spectacularly eclectic, and god, examples of it are listed in ten billion different places and I'm too lazy to list some again. 4) I read a lot of books. I don't like high fantasy. At the moment, I'm rereading 'The Wizardry Quested' by Rick Cook, finally reading 'Stranger in a Strange Land' by (duh) Heinlein, and idly reading 'Comparative Politics' by Jacobs, Conradt, Peters, and Safran. I'm on the lookout for any Flashman books I haven't yet acquired. I have a tattoo of the Flash symbol on my right ankle, and I need new glasses. And a nap. --GD

This is the part where I go OMFG CLASH!!!!111oneone It's also where I go -- haha. Guys. If you love the Clash, then no matter how you may have felt about Joe's solo album and soundtrack work, and now matter what you may have thought of the Mescaleros' first two albums... ...you will love Streetcore with all your heart, and listening to it will make you cry. Hell. Listening to it still makes me cry, and by now I can play every damn song on the thing. But then, re-reading the last Summer World issue does it too. Aw, Chuck, that /was/ the livin' end. ...uh, right. So. Clash! Dear god yes the Clash! Go to clashcity.com and jump through the hoops -- believe you me, it's well worth the comparatively tiny hassle, if you want ancient bootlegs, if you want live recordings of the post-Jones Clash that DON'T suck and that can give you an idea of how much Cut the Crap would've rocked the house down if it hadn't been processed to death... I'm 'Tomorrow' on the boards there. -GD

Gina, as a HUGE fan of the Clash, thanks for the info! I'll definately check out the website when I can, since I can't get enough of one of my favorite bands. Since I'm pretty much unfamiliar with the post-Jones Clash (on purpose), I'll check it out!
I think Outdoor Miner is also a huge Clash fan, and we've both talked before (in this thread IIRC) about how London Calling still manages to blow us away!

Harlan Age 38 I teach special education at the middle school level. I started reading the LSH way back around Superboy 222 or 223. I stopped reading when i was in high school. Trying now to go back and pick up what I missed out on. I have had lots of time to read recently. I have been undergoing cancer treatment so I have not worked since February. This has left me with lots of reading time to try and read some of my old back issues and catch up on the current series. I collect vintage Star Wars toys, baseball cards, and NASCAR items of my cousin Greg Biffle.

<wink and a nudge> It's just so refreshing. I'm so tired of all the harsh posts on other comics boards. It's so refreshing to read a so many positive posts.

greatplaidmoose, I feel exactly the same way. Even when lurking, it's so nice to see such a positive atmosphere and constant goofing around.
I like to lurk at the Legion part of the board and then quickly read through the recent posts on the Mission Monitor Board, which usually gives me a good laugh before I sign out.
