For those not on FB with me (us), I am in a cast. My left foot has this going on with it. It was caught early, but my foot is extremely swollen, and was just beginning to deform. Found out today that I will be in a hard cast for another 8 weeks at least, and then in a C.R.O.W. Not sure how long that will last, and then I will more than likely need physical therapy for my foot and ankle after not using them for so long.

Oh my gosh Dev. Good thing you were able to have it checked early on. Hope the treatment plan works successfully.

Yikes! I'm glad you tackled in time before it got worse. Hang in there and follow your doctors' orders.

Went today (four weeks in a cast) and things are progressing well. No further damage was shown on the x-rays, and the bones are starting to heal.
It's a long road, but it will be better than loosing my foot.

Aw, Dev. Just take it as easy as you can and don't stress. I've had a couple of foot surgeries, so I know having to stay off them for so long gets to be a terrible bore. Especially in the season when we're all supposed to be up and about. Feel free to stop by for therapeutic inanity whenever you want.

Yes, I'm sure it won't be that long before your foot gets back to normal. In the meantime, holler if you need virtual company!

Thanks guys. The weird thing is, I have not really dealt with this whole thing internally.
It sounds weird. There are times I think I want to break down, but I have not had more than 5 minutes alone pretty much since this happened. My body keeps doing things that are not making growing older any easier.
Not trying to be a downer here, just going through a lot (there is a whole lot more happening in my life than just this) and feeling hopeless at times.

How did the problem come to your attention? I'm asking because I have had foot pain problems for the past year. I typically start off the workday fine, then have a lot of pain from the middle of the shift-on. I'm a borderline diabetic, so your case makes me wonder. I also feel like the Skecher Shape-ups I've bought and worn the past three months have exacerbated the problem rather than helped.
Still "Lardy" to my friends!

If your foot pain is related to fallen or no arches, talk to your doc about getting orthotics custom-made. They cost a fortune, and you may need to wear heavier shoes to accommodate them, but they do help, she said from personal experience. My feet have been terrible my whole life, and in my Twenties, I had two botched surgeries on the left that caused more problems than they solved. Bah.

Most of my pain originates in my outer foot on either side, so that sounds right. I've always been pretty flat-footed.

I also feel like the Skecher Shape-ups I've bought and worn the past three months have exacerbated the problem rather than helped. The thing I noticed this time that was different than every other time that I had foot pain was that the top of my foot had swollen up quite a bit. Click here to see my foot this last Friday after the first cast was removed. The swelling is still in full force and will be one of the last things to really go away. Click Here For A Spoiler That, and the bone in the arch of my foot was noticeably further out than the one on the other foot. I have had flat feet (or mostly flat) my whole life, but have always been alright with it...no real problems over the years.

Mine is usually underneath the foot where the arch should be, but at least I can still walk at a decent clip at the end of an eight-hour shift when I have to. It hurts, but likely not as much as it would if I didn't have any support in my footwear at all.
