No not really but yesterday I Did something really sad, well according to Jennifer it was anyway, and went train spotting.
Now it’s not quite as bad as all that as the occasion was the first passenger run of the first new steam train to be built in the UK since 1960. The Peppercorn Class loco is called the Tornado and has been built from scratch by volunteers. As far as I know the pan is to run the train on the main line for the next 10 years at least pulling various special trains to and from London and Edinburgh. So I didn’t think it too much of a strech to go and see it pull into the Station.
And there is a video on You Tube showing it inside the station. The first 20 seconds are waiting, but at the end you also get to see the Castle of Newcastle.
