I thought it might be interesting for fans to expand the articles at their leisure.

Yes, I think I'll add that Threeboot is the best Legion is 10+ years. We'll see how long it takes someone to edit that comment. wink

I'm amazed at "In all, it was a successful and well-received return to the days of a teenaged Legion defending a shining future from the forces of evil" to describe the Archie Legion.

Ahhhh Betty and Imravonica's whacky adventures continue. It's noteworthy oddly that Archie continues just fine never growing up while many other comics struggle.

I have the article on my Watchlist tongue

I've added quite a bit on the reboot LSH (although not the specific line EDE objects to smile ), but mostly to character-specific articles (I either wholly wrote or heavily expanded Umbra , Live Wire , Violet , Apparition , Ferro , Triad , Spark and a few others)

My views are my own and do not reflect those of everyone else... and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Good job, Eryk. I did notice a typo under the continuities section, however, and took the liberty of editing it (I changed the word "appeal" to appear.

P.S. - I know that this can hardly be an original thought, but C.K.'s power sounds an awful lot like the hex power possessed by Marvel Comics' Scarlett Witch character. In other words, Calamity King might, indeed, have been a very useful Legionnaire.

I guess that DC's decision to deny him Legion membership is yet another example of the wonky logic the Legion used to use when making membership decisions in the old days. Oh, well.

Yeah, one of the reasons the character has always intrigued me is that he's actually quite powerful, plus I think it's interesting to have a super-hero with a primarily negative/destructive ability. I'd guess the reason for his rejection had more to do with the power being a little too complicated for the Silver Age Legion than anything else.

Why, I'd completely forgotten that the Time Trapper was once a Controller. Hmmm. Thanks for the reminder, Mr. Phipps.

They did. The page is at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lar_Gand , and Mon-El is a redirect to that. The character was never "Mon'el", only Mon-El and M'Onel.

And look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style . You're going to make a lot of work wikifying and changing links from redirects to the actual articles (the Legion page is at Legion of Super-Heroes, not Legion of Superheroes) if you keep this up.

I started quite a few of the wikipedia legionnaire articles. Phantom Girl, Shrinking Violet, Timber Wolf, Dawnstar, Shadow Lass, Ultra Boy, White Witch, Matter Eater Lad, Bouncing Boy, Chameleon Boy and Ferro Lad and I expanded a few others. I was going to do Wildfire but I never got round to it. (and Wildfire was never much of a favourite of mine so he didn't inspire me much.)

Reboot, are you SOM? I can never now read the legion wiki pages again because I made a fool of myself on there. It did *really* upset me that you took all of my Apparition section in the Phantom Girl article out as if it never existed when you did the separate Apparition entry. I worked really hard on covering Tinya in all her incarnations and then you just cut it all out in a second. It was my second article and it was kinda my baby :(I wouldn't have minded it being rewritten or expanded (as Greybird and another person did really well with the Dawnstar entry which is much improved from my first draft!) But you *completely* threw out all the work I did on the Apparition section of my PG article and that really upset me.

To tell the truth I knew it was coming. It was really depressing to see you had written another article solely about a postboot Legionnaire with a different codename and yes, my article that covered all the versions would have all I put in or was developed by others totally removed and replaced with your own articles that owed nothing to mine that I had put a lot of work into. When you did it to the pg article that was my baby smile it upset me a lot.

And I really hated that you would say write an article on Triad and then redirect Duo Damsel and Triplicate Girl to it so that the reboot Luornu was the only one covered. (I know that was changed later) I was going to write a Laurel Gand article that mostly covered her preboot self but then you wrote an article that was *totally* about the postboot version as if no other version of her ever existed, that really pissed me off(sorry to be so blunt) because that totally blew my plans for writing about preboot Laurel out of the water. There's nowhere to insert the other version of her in there.

The way you refuse to acknowledge any other continuity other than the reboot is infuriating. *sigh*

Anyway I can't contribute to the Legion wiki anymore because I just can't look at it again after I got upset. I'm sad about that because I did really enjoy doing it.

Really nice work on the Dawnstar article Greybird and that other guy, btw. I like it when people improve and expand my work and don't just arrogantly erase stuff that took a long time in a second and replace it with their own words that owes nothing to the hard work you did.

I know that you don't "own" the wiki articles and that the wikipedia style guide says be bold and all that.

but I was still very upset by it, sorry

Yeah, SoM's my old name here.

And, like I said @ WP itself, I DID use your Apparition text as a basis for the Apparition entry (which, since it's more than twice the length of the original entry obviously swamps that a bit). I just happen to think that the entries should go under the name the character used - post-ZH Tinya, to use the example at hand, never went by "Phantom Girl", so it's silly at best to put her under the Phantom Girl entry. Or, in reverse, for pre-ZH Luornu to go under "Triad", or pre-ZH Laurel to go under "Andromeda", since those names only briefly applied to divergent versions of the characters [note how I left the relevant entry for pre-ZH Laurel on the list of Legion members pointing to "Laurel Gand" rather than "Andromeda (comics)"]. Similarly, I left the extensive postboot Brainiac 5 bio on the same page as the preboot bio since he used that name for most of his career.

Sorry I upset you though - that was never my objective. I just want to make sure the postboot Legion gets covered properly @ WP, and I seem to be the only guy interested enough to try it. And I've put a lot of work into covering the LSH at WP too.

And the fact that I'm a fan of just the '94-'04 LSH isn't exactly a secret around here either. I've probably annoyed a few people here with that too smile

Oh I forgot to say-I also started Dream Girl, Element Lad and there's probably a couple of others I've forgotten. I also did Night Girl. (it's not very good! It could really use some expanding if anyone can find it!)

I couldn't put that into the legion members catergory because Lydda was never a member of the Legion proper. (not even in the 5 year gap I believe), it's a shame because I don't think the Subs catergory (I can't spell that word) is visited by anyone very often, perhaps there should be a link to it from the Legion members catergory page?

The Matter Eater Lad article I started hasn't changed very much since I wrote it. (it's a teeny tiny stub). I really hope that one of ME Lad's many fans on here can improve it! smile I like him too, but when I came to write it I realised I didn't know all that much about him..the shame.

I didn't mean to be upset about the phantom girl thing. I always do this, I make a fool of myself and then I can never go back again. frown I really miss writing the Legion wiki articles. When I first started there was only a handful of articles, the list of Legion members in the team entry was a sea of red links. I think there were about 6 or 7 articles before I started writing them. And most of them were written over one weekend.

I really wanted to post the link on here before so everyone on here could have a go if they wanted but I was too unconfident to. (I was afraid I would get flamed for posting something trivial or something. Even though it's on topic and not trivial, but my problems make me irrational)

I'm glad that someone posted it. I hope the articles get much renovation love and all.

(and I almost totally rewrote the Catspaw article from a very poor badly spelled stub that was listed on articles for deletion for being well crap and I got it saved from deletion by improving it!)

I was proud of that.

I don't see any reason why you can't go back. Believe it or not, I wasn't out to get you, and it's not as if you posted something like "I'm leaving and not coming back" to make it tricky smile

I've posted here about WP a couple of times, asking if post-ZH Umbra's mum was ever given a first name that I missed (no-one else found a reference either), or if anyone wanted to expand the Gates stub. Never quite an open call though.

And I remember the Catspaw thing. I think I voted "Keep" after you'd made your alterations smile

Please forgive my intrusion, Drura, but I don't think that you have anything to be ashamed about. You're clearly a devoted Legion fan and you surely wrote those articles from a good place in your heart. In other words, you were indulging in two admirable urges: sharing and creativity.

As you yourself alluded to, you were something of a pathfinder in terms of Legion content on the Wikepedia website. Well, it takes courage to do something that few others have done. Perhaps you did make mistakes (or maybe you didn't, I don't actually know), but its very easy for others to subsequently criticize and make suggestions for improvement when they have initial offerings such as your own ones to build upon (I am not disparaging Reboot in saying this, by the way, but merely making a truthful observation). Besides, you apparently did go on to use the constructive criticism you received to make better articles.

So, ultimately, I say "Bravo" to you (and to Reboot and all other Legion fans for that matter) for caring about our common interest, the Legion, and striving to spread the word. You should be proud because you've done a good thing, Drura (really)!
