From Newsarama ... In the wake of Adam Beechen's new Countdown to Adventure maxi-series, Sean McKeever of Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane fame will be taking over Teen Titans writing duties. According to the article, "McKeever will join Johns, Marv Wolfman, Mike McKone, George Perez, Todd Nauck and other creators for August’s Teen Titans #50 “jam issue,” and then head off on his own with September’s #51 with artist Randy Green." As a fan of Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane (thanks to Tamper Lad ), I'm thrilled. McKeever has done a great job with them and I believe is well suited or both Birds of Prey and Teen Titans. I admit I was bummed when he first moved to DC but now... well, at least there's hope!

I don't think I've ever read Sean's work but I think this title needs a new direction. How many issues is Adam going to do? Not much. Ohwell. I have no idea who Adam was anyways.

He's only doing the Amazon Attack tie-ins, I think. So, that's... three issues, I think? And, Beechen's been writing the Robin series. (Which I, personally, do not think recommends him for the Titans.) Before that, I think he was mainly doing Johnny DC stuff. In case you're curious, McKeever's also written an arc of Incredible Hulk, Sentinel v1 & v2, the last 10 issues of Mystique, the Gravity mini-series, Inhumans v6, some Marvel Age/Adventure stuff and the entire Mary Jane line thus far. So, while much of his stuff has been marketed to a younger audience, he's also done some cool stuff that was more mainstream. And, like with Birds of Prey, I think this change has a lot of potential.

I'm not sure what I think of the new lineup. I think that I almost prefer there being no "former" Titans on the roster, but I'm not sure what I think about Click Here For A SpoilerSupergirl. I'm still a little burned out on her numerous appearances all over the DCU. Maybe this writer will be able to make me warm up to her more than other writers have. I wouldn't mind seeing the JLA gift the Titans with some teleporter technology. It still feels a bit far fetched that Robin can go to school, go on patrol in Gotham AND have adventures in California. I mean, when is he gonna study? Also, no adult mentors are mentioned... I wonder if they are going to have any supervision? They are still minors, after all
Some people are like slinkys: not really good for anything, but they bring a smile to your face when you knock them down a flight of stairs

Yeah, I'm not sure what I think about that or the other new addition with their own book, either. But, in the new interview with McKeever about Teen Titans at Newsarama , I think he sells it...

Wait, wait, wait... INHUMANS vol 6, you say?
Is that the one that featured the younger cast, going to college on Earth? I *loved* that series and was tres bummed when it was cancelled.
If this is so, it makes me more excited now!

You know, I'm kind of looking forward to this. The last few issues of Titans have been flat after a really awesome OYL series of issues, and Geoff's departure has really been felt. I also felt that Beechen's work on the Titans, especially with recent lackluster work on Robin, hasn't been that great. So I think McKeever might be the shot in the arm to keep the Titans one of DC's best. And he apparently really knows how to write good teen character interaction, so hopefully he can give us super-hero action as well and balance the two. Maybe Tamper can comment more on his girly comics. Definately looking forward to the addition of Blue Beetle is he is indeed a member. I think that will be welcome and I really am glad for McKeever's committment to keep Ravager, Kid Devil and Miss Martian a part of the team and explore them more. I think the three are probably the strongest 'new' Titans since...well...since problem Jericho in the mid-80's. I love Raven, Cyborg and Jericho though, so I hope we'll still see them. I'd give anything to see Supergirl written 'right', which, since her return to the DCU, I feel DC has not accomplished. Perhaps it will be here.
