Over at www.majorspoilers.com they have this neat little list (and awesome picture) about Blok. This site used to contain movie/comic information but has recently been shut down for some reason. It's now back up, but without any content. Well, except for the homepage. There is a timer counting down though. Not too sure to what though. Anyway, just thought I'd share. Enjoy.

Blok is one of my all-time favorite Legionnaire.
I liked the scene when Wildfire was putting Blok through his paces. Dawnstar has just completed flying through an obstacle course of huge pylons coming out of the wall and smashing into the person going through the course. Blok just walked straight ahead, letting the pylons smash into him.

Blok is the high light of my favorite issue of the legion (well at least top five):
when he convinces the white witch to flee xerox at the end of the magic wars/baxter series.

Blok is one of my favorite members as well. Love the Lightle pic!
I am guessing they featured him cause he might appear in the next issue of Action? (in action this time...pun intended)
Or the person who updated the page is a big Blok fan. You got to remember the era where Blok was a member was a high point for the Legion. It also sold LOTS of comics. Hence, lots of more fans.

I love Blok as well. I seem to remember the odd little clique of Blok, Wildfire, Dawstar and the White Witch. Good times. Good times.
Over the past few weeks majorspoilers.com have highlighted several different things on their homepage.
The last one showed several pictures of Marvel heroes, with the odds (3:1, 100:1, etc.) on if they were "Skrull(sp?)." I don't read any Marvel books so I'm not familiar with that story.
The one before that summarized how much a d!ck Batman has been throughout history. Wish I had printed that out - it was pretty funny.

Daryl, You might want to check out this site Superdickery Regarding the Marvel Skrull thing, I believe it is the next big cross-over stroy in which the skrulls have taken the place of some heroes in preparation for invading Earth.

Oh, yeah the Skrull thing? It's the general catch all excuse for bad writing, and OOCness. The most commonly used Marvel retcon.

Way back in his 2nd appearance, where he realizes his friends (the League of Super-Assassins) have lost, and he just recites a poem and surrendered, despite that the big-rocky guys were always supposed to smash, I knew he was cool.
Then he turned up again and joined the Legion; that was even cooler.
The childhood friend Exnihil never had.

Though Blok was never a favorite of mine, I appreciated his multiple roles as the young innocent among the more experienced Legionnaires, comic foil for Timber Wolf, and friend of White Witch. He was also proof, along with Wildfire and Dawnstar, that latter-day Legionnaires could be just as popular with fans and integral to the team as the Adventure-era characters. In this way, he helped perpetuate the idea that the Legion could grow and change. His death was an unnecessary step backwards.

I kinda loved his being a foil on occasion.
I laughed when a courier came with a message for Timber Wolf and handed it to Blok, saying that, 'all you aliens look alike' and Blok just looked at him...

Thanks for the link to the site. I just checked it out and it's great. This should take up several hours of my workday today.

Always loved him for his admission of having been duped and willingness to make amends, through an impeccable commitment to the Legion. His quiet courage, eagerness to learn, overall good nature and towering strength (he's one of the more powerful legionnaires) made him one of the best fleshed outcharacters of the original roster and made me cringe even more when Roxxas (or Giffen...) sealed his fate. I have been hoping ever since to see him in the new iterations of the LSH, alas, to no avail.

I always thought the most interesting thing about him was the fact that he started out as a villain, and was disappointed that it was never really followed up on more. My favorite Blok appearance is actually the alternate universe story where he betrays the team and destroys Legion HQ. I think I would've preferred to have more of the edgy and ambiguous Blok of his first couple of appearances rather than the dumb and innocent (with occasional angst) portrayal that kind of became the rule for him.
Maybe that's just me, though.

What, no Blok sex jokes?
I wonder if it's hard for Blok's people to reproduce.
(I know, I know, a cringeworthy pun.)

The most popular love song on Blok's homeworld?

"A Hard Man Is Good to Find." What About: Solid as a Rock Brick House Rock Around the Clock? I could go on and on but it gets a little redundant.
Is that a moon?

I have lots of gravel for my paths now. Thanks Blok.
While it's sad to see any Legionnaire die, he got a decent farewell, as we see him reach for a final understanding of his nature.
I don't think his power of super density was shown in any kind of way that made him stand out in a team with lots of invulnerable people. His personality moved from resigned LSA mopiness to comedy lunk with Timberwolf. He was far from stupid, as uncovering Universo's identity showed, he just moved at a different pace. But although kind hearted and noble, he wasn't a key member of the team for me.
I do think the plot would have worked a great deal better if they had gone with their original plan and killed Erin.

Well, I loved Blok, and I love writing him in my Bits thread. His confrontation with Mano is one of my produest moments as a fanfic writer.
I agree with EDE that he should have been edgier, though without losing that gentle side.
I also agree with Thothkins that S. Erin should have died instead of Blok. I had nothing against the idea of hir being transgendered, but the actual writing was just wrong on so many levels.

It was really do to with making the first arc work than anything relating to later issues. Roxxas kills Erin on Earth. This focuses attention on Earth from UP science police, her SP earth colleagues, the Legion and specifically Jan Arrah. Earthgov uses Dirk to deflect the blame, increases it's attempt to clamp down on "terrorism" and hires an independent Celeste when more links are uncovered. Celeste and Arrah have very strong reasons to meet. That all hangs together nicely, even in a rushed summary. Then Roxxas could have killed Blok... Blok as possible Dark Man adherent was unsettling. That whole issue actually. But seeing a character with that much darkness may not have been a great read.

Funnily enough, I've never read the Dark Man Saga, even though the cover of one of its issues was what planted the seed in my mind which turned me into a Legion fan many years down the line.

Reading the bottom caption, I can almost see the lightbulb appearing above Marv Wolfman's head "that's what I'll call my villains!" Are Validus and Mon dancing on that cover? on a Saturday? while size shouldn't be important in selecting your dance partner, there are limits. Sarya is mocking he Legion for having their names on a piece of paper and not an Omnicom. Tharok is wondering if his team's dripping logo will make his head rust.
